Logan's P.O.V.

In all honesty, Logan couldn't forget about Emily. Normally he was a social person and talking to random strangers wasn't something that was considered odd for him to do, but she was different. All to often, people weren't genuine when Logan would try and strike up a conversation, they would usually respond in short sentences and he could tell that they were annoyed with him. But Emily was different, she seemed like she actually enjoyed the conversation that had taken place between them, she made it seem like they could have eventually been friends. The sad part is, she had to go back to playing the piano before he could get her cell phone number. Sure he could have walked up to her afterword and asked for it, but he felt shy, by the time he had worked up the courage to go talk to her again she had left. He thought about getting the girl's number from his cousin Lilah, but he new that she would most likely tell him to piss off and go get a life. So he sat there for a week, pondering on how he was going to get Emily's phone number.  Then a solution presented itself.

Lilah decided that she was going to throw a small New Year get together, and by small she meant small. The people that were invited were, Logan (But only because he lived there), His friend Mathew, Mara and her boyfriend, and Emily. That meant there was an opportunity to talk to Emily and get her number. While he was helping Lilah clean the house, he felt nervous and giddy, it brought him back to those high school days when he asked his first girlfriend out on a date. Logan was excited and Lilah could tell, she asked him what was his problem was about four times. And as the clock ticked closer and closer to the time everyone was to arrive, Logan found his nervousness amplifying and drowning out the tune of his excitement.

Liliah had been watching her younger cousin all day, through out the day he had a ditzy smile on his face, and he had been randomly spouting things out of his mouth. So when his demeanor changed into a state of slight nervousness Lilah just stared at him with a bemused expression, as she figured out what was wrong with him, he had been in a weird state of thought before she announced that she would be having a party. After that he seemed to be very excited about something and he talked about her friend Emily quite often afterword. Then it had hit her, he was nervous and excited about seeing her best friend. 'How cute,' Lilah thought, 'my cousin has a crush on Emily and he doesn't even realize it.' There was a knock on the door, and barging in came Josh, Mara, and her boyfriend Danny, but no Emily. Lilah sighed, her friend was usually late to everything anyway.

"Hey y'all, welcome to my home!" Lilah said cheerfully.

While Lilah was cheerful, Logan was quite gloomy as Emily hadn't shown up yet and that was something the young woman was not going to tolerate, "Hey logan come help me set something up in the kitchen."

Logan appeared in the doorway, "What do you need?"

"What is wrong with you?" Lilah said bluntly, "You've been acting weird all day, you've gone from excited to nervous to melancholy."

"Nothings wrong Lilah," He said.

"It's about Emily isn't it," His eyes widened giving himself away.

"N-no!"

"Mm-hm," she said walking over to the door, "Cut the vegetables. And by the way, Emily is always late."

Emily looked at the clock and cursed, she should have left ten minutes ago. It was high time she actually started paying attention to the time. She raced into her bedroom and pulled on a comfortable sweater and blue jeans. Then ran into the other room, grabbed her keys and jumped into her car. As soon as she arrived she realized that she had forgotten the seven layer bean dip she said that she would bring and had to rush back home to get it. Finally she made it back to Lilah's apartment with everything that she needed and knocked on the door anxiously. Lilah was going to kill her for being late. Again.

"Glad to see you've made it." Lilah said not amused in the slightest

"Hi Lilah," Emily said sheepishly

"Watever, I'm just glad to know your alive. Logan will be too."

"Wait...Logan as in the Logan that I met at that Christmas party last week?" Emily asked

"Yeah. Who else would I be talking about?"

Suddenly Emily was a little nervous. Should she have dressed up a bit more? Or at least put a little bit of makeup on? What if Logan didn't want to talk to her? What if he didn't like plain old Emily and wanted someone who was fun? Not someone who's career relied on people who needed musical entertainment, what if he wanted a friend who went out places instead of sitting on her couch eating potato chips? Too many unwelcome thoughts circulated around Emily's head causing her to want to run back to her car and drive away.

"Why don't you come inside instead of just hovering there?" Lilah asked, even though it was more of a demand.

"O-okay."

"You alright there Em? You're looking kind of pale." Lilah asked. The moment she had said Logan's name Emily had become nervous. Lilah was used to her being nervous around new people, but Logan wasn't new to her so what was going on? Did they get into an argument? No, if that were the case Logan wouldn't have been excited to see her again. That could only mean that Emily was excited to see Logan but nervous of the way that he would see her the second time around. Lilah could remember the all the times that a second date hadn't gone well for her. And all the times that she had been stood up. Lilah prayed that Emily wouldn't be as nervous when she and Logan talked.

"Yeah, I'm alright. Let's go in and get this party started!" She said with a cheeriness that she didn't feel.

Logan saw Emily come in and he felt a small nervous not form in his gut. To him, she looked great, she had an over sized green sweater that complimented her dark hair and ripped jeans that just seemed to fit her personality. When her brown eyes met his, she grinned and gave him a big wave. Which he gladly returned. She came over and sat next to him on the couch.

"Long time no see huh?" She said

Logan laughed, "For sure, it's been ages."

For the whole night the two sat together, talking and laughing alone and with everyone else. It was good to have a friend. After the count down, everyone said they're goodbyes and gave hugs. Logan had been so caught up in talking to Emily, that he had forgotten to get her phone number! He ran outside hoping to catch up...just to bump into someone and fall to the ground. Both people let out a solid groan.

"Are you alright?" The person asked

"Yeah, I'm fine. What about you?" He asked

"I'm fine. I actually was trying to find you." It was Emily.

"Me to."

"Can I have your phone number?" Emily asked.

"Only if I can have yours."
