I was sitting down on the patient chair waiting for the doctor.

The room was awfully quiet. The atmosphere felt sad and cold. Then finally the doctor came in and burst my dream bubble with a, "You have about four more weeks before you go into labor."

"Wow, are you serious only four more weeks?"

"Yes, four more weeks' young lady."

"Okay, thanks doctor." Right when I was getting ready to leave he said, "Whoa, Whoa come back. I need your signature along with your parents."

"I can sign this, but my parents can't," I said.

"And why is that?" the doctor said.

"It's kind of personal and complicated."

"Well, I don't want to be pry. I'll let you slide this time, but I do need their signatures when you come to give birth," he said.

"Okay," I replied. I was so excited, but discouraged at the same time. I cannot raise a baby by myself! I can barely keep the job I have right now. With school, family problems and no additional support for my child everything is pretty much going downhill. As these thoughts are going through my mind, I left with a "thank you doctor" and went out the doors of the doctor's office.
