I woke up Monday morning feeling like shit. My lower abdomen hurt really bad, and it felt like I was sweating a lot, but I wasn't hot. I rubbed my eyes as I moved the blanket off of me and...

Shit.

Blood covered part of my pants and there was a huge stain the bed sheets. Of course I'd get it right now. No other time was better, right? I mean, I knew I was probably going to get it eventually. Although I've talked to some people who lost theirs by now, mine only slowed the cycle bit by bit. I get it about once every other month.

Fake.

I'm a fake.

Everyone can tell I'm faking it.

I'm not a real guy.

I'm just a fake.

A poser.

An idiot.

I groaned as I finished up in the bathroom. As I exited, a knock sounded on my door.

"Time to get ready, honey. Wake up, breakfast is on the table," mom's voice rang through the door. I sighed, running my hands through my hair. Why'd she make breakfast?

"Okay, I'll be down in ten. Thank you."

After changing and stuffing all of my books into my bag and grabbing a few pads and tampons for it, I walked downstairs into the kitchen.

"I keep forgetting I can see you now," I remarked as I hugged my older brother at the table. He ruffled my hair and smiled at me.

"Well get used to it. Also, sit down. Mom here has something important to announce."

I looked over at my mom. She was smiling. What? Is happening??

"So, you know how I've been talking to the one lovely lady, Sarah? The one I've been out with a few times?" I nodded, and her smile got even wider. "Well, we went on a date last night, and..."

"And what? Mom speak!"

"We're official! Momma's got a girlfriend!" She open-mouth smiled at me and started doing a weird celebration dance, shaking her fists in the air and moving her head around.

"Holy shit, really? That's awesome! I'm so happy for you!" I stood up and hugged her. She hugged back and squeezed, making me lose breath. I guess I'm gonna see her more often... I hope she's a good person and not a cold-hearted bitch.

"Yep. She asked me while we were standing by the river. I obviously said yes. That means she's gonna be around a bit, okay? Who knows, in a few months she may even move in!"

"I'm gonna stop you there, Mama. Don't think too far ahead," Maverick remarked as he smirked.

"Okay, okay. Now that we've talked, eat up and start walking. Still got school." I groaned.

"I know..." I picked my bag back up and kissed my mom on the cheek, then hugging Maverick.

"Bye mom, bye Mav. I won't be home after school because of work, so don't expect me until after dinnertime. Love you."

My mom replied with a "love you," and I was out the door, plugging my earbuds in (because I'm too cheap to buy bluetooth ones).

Mom seems pretty happy about Sarah. I wonder when I'll get to meet her. Probably soon, since they're official now. Oh shit, does she know about me? What if she doesn't and she turns out to not be okay with it?

Wait how am I going to change in school? I can't bring my bag to the bathroom without causing suspicion. Grabbing a tampon in class is pushing it. Should I just put one in my pocket? But what if it falls out in class or the hallway and everyone sees? No, I'll just be careful. I'll do that now. And no one can be in the bathroom when I change. It'd sound like I was eating chips or some shit like that.

I can't have any of my friends finding out. Ohmygodwait. I forgot about Clara and Rachel on Friday! They're going to ask about it again. Clara's bound to, at least. She's always curious. Why is it so difficult to have friends? I can't imagine how hard it is to have a crush...

"Hey Noah!" Henry ran up to me in the front of the school. He had on his normal, baggy jeans and a 'Supreme' hoodie. His hair was messy, in front of his eyes.

"When are you gonna get a haircut, dude?" I grabbed a piece of his hair, pulling on it. He backed up and slapped my hand, and put the same hand on his chest.

"Right for the heart, bro. No 'hello' or anything. I'm hurt." We both laughed. Clara and Rachel joined us as we entered the school. I looked away from them, and my heart rate went up.

"Hey guys! How was your weekend? Mine was a-mazing. I spent almost every second with my babes over here. We went bowling, got dinner, and she slept over my house for both nights! You can guess what we were doing in the ni-"

"I'd rather not, Clar. Thanks for the over-shared explanation of your probably great weekend. I'm gonna go rip my eardrums out at my locker, love ya." Henry smirked and walked away. Clara started pouting as we continued walking to our set of lockers.

"Hmph. He's always so mean. Just because I'm talkative-"

"Don't listen to him. He's on his man-period," Rachel cut her off. Heat climbed my neck to my ears when I heard the last sentence. I'm not a real man. I still get a woman period. Why did I think I was valid?

"Oh! Noah you never answered me Friday night. I'm still really sorry. It was none of my business." We unlocked our lockers and switched out books and stuff.

"O-oh, um, i-it's okay. I-I was just-"

"Hey, you look really familiar. Did you go to Arbor High?" My eyes widened at a voice behind me. I slowly stood up, making eye contact with a confused Rachel before facing him.

Standing in front of me was one of the most popular jocks in my old school, Jason McCaster. Also a really big transphobe who knew about me.

"Wait, are you related to the one tranny? What was that dyke's name, Noelle? Yea, Noelle Carperton, dumb bitch. You know her?"
