"Noah Carperton to the main office please, Noah Carperton to the main office." Everyone in my class looked at me as my name was called through the speakers. I stood up, shaking off my nerves, and walked out of the class as I waved bye to Clara and Brendon. I walked slowly through the halls, not really in the mood to make it to the office anytime soon.

Just as I went to turn a corner, a hand grabbed my wrist and spun me around, then pinning me to a locker.

"Do you have to leave? We haven't even had creative writing together yet," Adrien pouted. I giggled, making him smile. I kissed him on the lips, making him free my hands as he kissed back. I pulled away.

"I have a doctor's appointment, Adrien. I have to go."

"But whyyy?" I laughed again.

"I have work later anyway. If you want to see me that badly, show up there." Walking slowly backwards, I waved.

"I'll see you later, Adrien." Then I turned around and walked towards the office.

It's been kind of like that for the past week. Adrien will catch me when people aren't around and be super affectionate and soft, and show up at my work just to hang out, and hang out as often as possible.

We both agreed it would be best to not be public in school yet. We weren't actually official. It was more of a dating-without-labels situation right now. We haven't been on an actual date yet, as far as I've seen.

He was also trying to see how his friends feel about the whole homosexuality thing before he came out. He's friends with those that would be considered the 'popular' kids - I've never understood that. What's the point of having a million friends that don't actually care about you?

I think he's scared to come out. It's understandable; coming out is no small feat. It has the chance of changing your entire life. And I don't think any of his friends have really showed their opinion, which makes it worse.

"Ready for your appointment?" I looked up to see my mother standing in the doorway of the office and smiled at her.

"When am I ever not ready?"

And we set off for our hour long drive to Dr. Varingly.

"So, how have the shots been affecting you? Have you noticed anything different?" I thought for a moment.

"I guess my voice has dropped a little. My periods slowed down to once every few months. I think I... Mom cover your ears." I stared at her until I was sure she couldn't hear me, and began whispering. "I think my sex drive increased."

Dr. Varingly laughed, and motioned to my mom that she could uncover her ears. "That's very common after a few months of testosterone therapy. How long have you been taking it again?"

" I started taking it in May, and it's the December 11, so... Seven months? Ish?" He looked at his file - my file - before nodding.

"Sounds about right. Mom, have you noticed anything different?"

"I think Noah's been more energetic. Also, his face is getting squarer a tiny bit. Oh! And he's been eating a lot more. That's about it."

"All of these are very common, as I'm sure you've heard. You'll begin noticing it more. Other things to look for would be facial hair, increase in overall body hair, more muscle, and a change of body odor smell. That means you better be using deodorant, young man." A small blushed formed on my face.

"Hey, I use deodorant!"

"I know, I know."

By the time I walked into work, Mandy looked like she wanted to strangle someone. Good thing I showed up ten minutes early.

"Hey Mandy! Everything alright?" She looked up and glared before seemingly realizing it was me. The glare dropped and she sighed.

"Thank the lords you're here. I've been running this place by myself for two hours. It would have been fine if it wasn't fucking rush hour, but no." I knew as well as my other coworkers that shit was real when Mandy cursed. "And worst of all, people decided to be assholes today! I can't catch a break!"

"Okay, so I'll take control. You can go on break for however long you need, and I think by then Suho should be here." Mandy sighed again before nodding.

"Yeah. Yeah, okay. Thank you, Noah. I swear I don't know what I'd do without you." I smiled and ushered her out. As soon as she stepped into the break room, the bell jingled, signaling someone walked in. I turned to see a couple, maybe in their early 30's. The woman looked like she was going to be difficult.

"Hello! What can I get you?"

"One black coffee, a-"

"Caramel frappe with two espresso shots and a shot of chocolate, extra whipped cream." I looked at the lady in disbelief before nodding and putting my customer service smile back on.

"Alright, I'll be back in a minute with your order." The second I turned around, the lady huffed.

"Why wasn't it made as you took the order? Someone else should have done it."

"I'm sorry, ma'am. No one else is in right now, it's just me. I'll only take a couple minutes."

"Fine." I quickly walked into the back, pouring the black coffee while the frappe was blending. After I finished their drinks, I brought them back to the front.

"Took you long enough. God." They both took their drinks. The man swiped his card, and they were gone. Finally.

"That lady seemed like a bitch." I looked up. Adrien was leaning on the counter smiling at me, Sam by his side.

"Hey. Yeah, she was. Want anything?" Sam looked at me with hope.

"Can I get a hot chocolate? Um, with extra whipped cream?" I nodded, typing it into the register.

"And I'll take a pumpkin spice latte." I glanced at Adrien, one eyebrow raised.

"Okay, basic bitch."

"Hey! It tastes good, alright?" We both laughed. The bell rang again, and Suho walked in.

"I'm here! Is Mandy okay? She texted me that she was close to killing someone." I signaled to Adrien to give me a minute and turned to Suho.

"Mandy is outback still. She was stressed to hell and back when I walked in. Do you want to check on her? When you get back, you can start making drinks and I'll stay up here." Suho nodded and walked into the back. I turned back to Adrien and Sam.

"Give me one minute and I'll be back with your drinks."

After I came back, Adrien and Sam hung out, talking to me whenever I wasn't dealing with customers. They stayed until Adrien's dad texted him that they needed to come home for something.

I worked till close, which meant Suho and I were left on cleaning duty. I absolutely hate closing, but it gets me money. We finished up quickly and left by half past ten.

I walked through the town, the brisk air and strong winds making me walk faster. As I reached my street, I spotted red and blue flashing lights.
