I say with my head faced down, "Hello there. You may all know me already. Kanoa. How are all of you?"
"We are good. Can you please fill us in on what is happening, you two? We want to help you two, so please, tell us what is happening?" Jiwon says in a calm and relaxed way.
I peaked at Lala and saw she was looking at me. I looked up, revealing my face and telling them the story of what is happening.
After minutes of storytelling, I finally got to the point of where we are now. I look over to Jiwon and saw that tears were forming and ready to fall from her face while Cecilia was stern while processing what she has heard. Lala looked at me with a concerned look while trying to hold back her tears.
Cecilia and Jiwon got up to talk while Lala walked up to me and brought a chair next to my wheelchair, and held my hand. She smiled at me while I sat there waiting to see what may have happened.
After Cecilia and Jiwon have finished talking, they came back to us and hugged us. "I'll always be there for you. Don't worry, I'll be by your sides," Jiwon and Cecilia say, but Jiwon intersects, "BUT DON'T YOU DARE HURT MY LITTLE SISTER!!!"
I giggle and nod my head. Cecilia looks at us and smiles, and says, "I'll be your most loyalist friends, and I will not let you all down!"
We all hug each other as a group, and we all leave Starbucks and are at the corner at the intersection. Cecilia and Jiwon were going back up to the school while Lala and I were going to head to another place to forget what happened to us. "Well, we will see you guys later. Do both of you have Drama? Mrs. Hamby-Real?" Jiwon asked.
Lala and I nodded. "Okay. We can meet up there during Nutrition and Lunch, or you two can just still be doing your thing elsewhere without us intruding, okay?" Cecilia jumped in and added.
We waved goodbye as we walked off to the other side of the crosswalk as Cecilia and Jiwon waited for their light to be green.
We walked off and looked around for places. "So, Kanoa, you okay after that talk?" Lala asked.
I nod as I looked around. As we walked, my eyes caught on a supermarket. "Lala, want to shop?" I asked Lala.
She nodded and smiled, and we walked to the supermarket to buy whatever catches our eyes. When we walked in, Lala saw candy while I saw chocolate chip cookies on the shelves. Lala quickly pushed my wheelchair to the shelves to get the candy while I grabbed the cookies.
"Uh, Lala," I asked Lala, "do you have money? I do."
Lala looks at me with a concerned look and says, "No. I left my wallet at home."
"I'll pay, okay?" I told Lala.
"Kanoa, it's fine. You don't have to," Lala insists.
"Lala. It's all on me, okay? I'll get what you want, okay?" I replied.
I grabbed the cookies that Lala got and placed them on my lap. I grabbed my wallet and placed it on top of all of the stuff. We then checked out the stuff and came out of the store.
After we got out, we found my dad in the parking lot, trying to find me. My phone was gone because of what happened with the punks.
"KANOA!!! GET INTO THE CAR NOW!!! YOU TWO LALA!!! KANOA!!! YOUR MOTHER IS IN THE HOSPITAL, AND WE NEED YOU NOW!!!" My dad yells from his car.
Lala quickly rushes to help me into the car, and we drove to the Torrance Memorial Hospital.
My Father found a parking spot and quickly got us all out of the car. My dad ran into the hospital with my three brothers, and Lala pushed my wheelchair into the hospital and the room.
When we got to the room, Lala's parents were too worried about Lala and my family's needs.
When I went into the room, I saw my mother with a bandage on the side of her leg and a bandage that is on her head.
"Hey Kanoa," my mom calls me over on the hospital bed, "i'm okay. Don't get worried, okay? I just got shot on the leg while I banged my head against the counter while I fell. Kanoa."
"Yeah?" I replied while holding onto the railing on the bed.
"No matter what, I'll always be there for you. Take care of your brothers and help your dad. I love you," My mom says as she closes her eyes and the machine began to flat line.
My dad panicked and rushed to the bed and tried to wake her up. My brothers called for the nurses to wake her up.
Three nurses stormed into the room and asked my dad to move out of the way. I looked out and saw Lala holding her mother's hand and saw tears coming down her face. She glances over at me.
I watched the nurses do everything in their power to wake her up,
But She Never Woke Up...
