After crashing pretty early the previous night, I'd expected to get a good nights sleep since I desperately needed it at the moment. Instead, it was rudely interrupted.
"Wake up!" It was a loud shout that jolted me awake. I was still in bed, heart pounding as I scrambled to sit up. "What's happening?!"
I expected a Decepticon to suddenly appear out of nowhere, but the room was silent. The curtains had been opened again, moonlight filtering into the room. Bee was standing at the foot of the bed, shirtless and bathed in the silvery light.
"Bee, what's wrong?" Not that I didn't like seeing Bee in such a beautiful setting, but being woken up in the early hours of the morning wasn't my favourite activity. It was a little discerning, seeing Bee with a scowl on his features.
"You're annoying as hell, that's what's wrong!" He shouted again, this time with much more force. I was shocked, to say the least. "What did I do??" Ignoring the fact that everyone else was asleep, I spat the question at Bee. If he was going to be horrible to me, I at least deserved to know why.
"You- You cling to me every time we're together! It's pathetic!"
Just hearing him say that caused tears to well in my eyes. After everything that we'd been through, the mere thought of him insulting me burnt like acid on my skin. To actually have him throwing an insult at me hurt like hell. My heart was literally aching, our bond being tested by Bee's anger.
I flinched back a little as Bee leaned towards me, placing both of his palms on the end of the bed. With a menacing look on his face, he sneered. "You're pathetic."
I let out a strangled gasp as my chest tightened, Bee's intense anger causing the bond to wane and stretch. "T-That's not fair-" My vision was being blurred by my tears, making it harder to focus on his face.
"What, are you going to cry now?" Bee's goading was increasing the pressure on my chest, causing more pain to flare up. "Stop it! Bee, this isn't fair!" In one quick movement, I grabbed one of the pillows beside me, throwing it harshly towards his holoform.
He caught it before it could hit him, chuckling to himself. "Funny, you can't even fight back properly." I struggled to wipe my eyes of tears, still tangled in the soft sheets of our bed.
"You're weak, Rose. Why I even agreed to be with you is beyond me." He suddenly took off his gold wedding band, dropping it onto the wooden floor. It made an echoing clunk, which made me look down to my own ring. The small diamonds glittered in the moonlight, reminding me that Bee was the one who proposed. He was the one who wanted so badly to be married.
"You know what," I took off my own ring, admiring it for a quick moment, before hurling it at Bee. The sharp edge of the diamonds struck his cheek, and he hissed as it left a small cut. "Fuck you! I hate you-"
Bee tackled me back onto the bed without warning, and I hit his shoulders with my balled fists, aching sobs wracking my body. "I hate you! I hate you, I hate you,"
There was a sudden rush of air like I'd just taken a deep breath after being underwater for a long time. "Rose!" The voice of Bee's holoform reached my ears again, and this time I threw harder punches.
"Hey- Stop it! Princess, stop!"
My wrists were pinned back beside my head, and the aching in my heart had subsided. "Bee," I choked out his name, hot tears still rolling down my cheeks.
Bee gathered me in his arms, whispering calming things in an attempt to stop me from crying. It worked, and slowly my tears came to a halt. Bee didn't let me go, however, and continued to hug me tightly, his face buried in my neck.
"What happened princess...?"
He spoke in a gentle tone, one hand drawing tiny symbols on the small of my back, and they felt like Cybertronian. Perhaps he was spelling something out. "I had a nightmare, and you didn't love me anymore."
Bee made a quiet noise, humming against my skin. "What a silly thing to dream about. As if I'd ever stop loving you." He pressed a light kiss to my shoulder, trying to convince me that I was out of my nightmare, and that he really was here.
"But- I felt the bond weaken. You took your ring off, too." Bee leaned back, bringing up his left hand to show me that he was still wearing his gold wedding band.
"See? Still wearing it." He cupped my cheek with his hand, the cold temperature of his ring sending a tiny shock down my spine. "Relax, okay? It was just a nightmare."
I leaned into his touch, closing my eyes as I focused on the warmth he was giving off. I was still being cradled on Bee's lap, his much bigger holoform almost enveloping me.
"I'm never going to stop loving you, okay? We've been through everything together, and I promise," He nudged me, getting me to open my eyes and look at him. "I'm never leaving you again, okay?"
I looked into his beautiful blue eyes, smiling as I did so.
"Okay. Love you, Bee."
He happily let me cuddle up to him again, the both of us falling back onto the bed, Bee's arms now tightly wrapped around my torso.
"Ditto, princess."
