"y/nnnnn," Cedric poked the studying girl, you, who was oblivious to his pokes. "y/n," Cedric repeated. Everytime he said your name, he poked your arm, but when you were concentrating on something, you tend to ignore everyone and everything around you, so you didn't say a word.

You were in the Gryffindor common room, since Cedric had somehow followed you in without being seen. He was apparently extremely sneaky when he wanted to be. Another one of his skills that you found about. There seemed to be something new to find out about him every day.

Cedric and you had been best friends since both of you were young. Your parents all went to same school and were all best friends, so you basically had no choice whether to choose to be friends or not.

You didn't want to admit it, but you had fallen for him. Too shy to say anything, you kept quiet, and stayed as friends. You didn't just like him because of his looks and popularity, though. You loved his personality, and he could make you smile like no one else could.

Cedric, having enough of being ignored, snatched your book of transfiguration and sat on it. "Cedric, what are you doing?" you eyed the book, wondering how to get it back. Although you desperately wanted to get it back, you certainly weren't about to grab it from under there.

"You were ignoring me," he simply said. "Well studying is more important," you replied. "But I'm your best friend," he whined.

"Your point?"

Cedric glared at you indignantly. You burst out laughing because you didn't think he could manage such a murderous look.

"Anyways, what do you want?" you asked. "You study too much. You need to take a break," he stated. "Well I need to get good grades. We're in 6th year now, Cedric. We're also prefects. I don't understand how you never study yet still get acceptable grades," you muttered.

"But y/n, you are smart," Cedric replied honestly, then added, "studying is making you stupid,"

"Um, I don't think that's how it works," you grinned. "My logic never works. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is, go to Hogsmeade with me tomorrow?" Cedric asked, facing you.

You were shocked. "Is this like, um.." you trailed off. "Yes. A date," he finished. "Alright," Cedric said brightly when I didn't say anything, too uncoordinated to even make a sound "it's a date, then. We'll meet up in front of the train at 12."

With that, he left you standing there as he exited the common room.

"There is something wrong with that boy," you muttered under your breath, gathering your books and climbing up the stairs to your dormitory.

No matter how hard you tried, you couldn't help the grin that threatened to split your face in half as you opened the door.
