It turned out that I needn't worry at all. I just spoke Cedric like how I would normally speak to him and it went better than I had thought it would. Though the topic of him missing Summer came up multiple times, he began to mention her less and less as time went on and the potion was wearing off.

We chatted for ages, about anything, really, until it was past curfew. I checked the clock. 11:00. How was Cedric supposed to get back to his common room now? I was thinking of a solution, gazing anxiously at the clock, before I heard quiet snoring.

I looked over at Cedric, and saw him sprawled across his half of the couch. I laughed at how silly he looked, and yet, that didn't change how I felt about him. I knew all his habits and his flaws, yet I still loved him. I couldn't help it. I just couldn't.

Running upstairs to my dorm, I fetched a blanket for Cedric and draped it over his slumbering form, then left to go to bed in my dormitory, snuggled up with Blackberry under my blanket.

I woke up the next day, much later than I had intended. It was already past breakfast, and a stab of worry shot through me. Where was Cedric, and what if Summer had given him more of the love potion? I had always been a terrible worrier, but this was worse than what I had ever felt before. All the hard work that might've been thrown down the drain in a matter of seconds.

I got changed faster than I had ever gotten changed before, and flew down the stairs - not literally, of course. As I skipped the last step, I cannoned into someone, and that someone let out an, 'oof'. I apologised hurriedly, before looking up into the person's eyes.

My y/ec ( your eye colour ) eyes clashed with familiar stormy grey ones that I knew all too well. Any words I had died on my tongue as I stood there in a state of something I couldn't even describe if I tried.

"y/n, I'm so, so, so sorry. Summer-" Cedric began, but before he could continue, I hugged him tightly, and my eyes felt ridiculously wet. I totally wasn't crying. My eyes are just sweating from the heat.

He started to speak again. "Summer slipped a love potion in the butterbeer I had drank without us knowing."
"I know," I replied, voice muffled by his shirt. He pulled away and looked into my eyes.

"You have absolutely no idea what it was like. It was pure torture to be under that love potion, not just because I was obsessed with Summer. During that whole time, the real me was pushed into a corner of my mind, and I was forced to watch the whole thing and yet, I couldn't stop it. I could see how much I hurt you under the influence of the potion. When I saw that you were almost crying, I cried no matter how much I tried to stay strong," Cedric spoke, and when he had finished speaking, tears began running down his eyes, dampening his cheeks, rolling down his face.

I gave him a faint smile. "Well you're not under the potion anymore."
He nodded, and then he gave me a brilliant smile that made butterflies erupt in my stomach. "I'm taking you out on a proper date this weekend. With no interruptions," he declared.

We heard cheering, and turned to see the common room door open, and standing there was what most definitely seemed to be the whole of Gryffindor house. I blushed, wondering how long they were there for, but Cedric merely grinned and wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

The next day, Cedric and I were called to the headmaster's office. We went in cautiously, led by Professor McGonagall, and saw Professor Dumbledore presumably waiting for us. Professor McGonagall left, leaving us with Professor Dumbledore ( The word 'professor' was in that paragraph 4 times 😂 ).

He smiled at us from beneath his half moon spectacles. "Miss l/n and Mr Diggory. It is said and also believed that love is such a complicated emotion that it is impossible to recreate, and we have been informed by Mr Smith ( Peter ) that Miss Stonesfeld has used Amortentia on Mr Diggory, which in this case, she would be expelled, if we knew her whereabouts. We found all the ingredients in the girl's bathroom, and Myrtle has told us that a girl had been, I quote, 'a very pretty girl has been brewing a love potion. Hasn't she been naughty?'" the Professor chuckled.
