chapter 7

Emma's POV
I drove towards the scene and got out of my car.I saw the ambulance picking up my bloody dad off the floor and putting him onto an emergency bed. I couldnt believe my eyes!

I ran past all the people and and towards the ambulance. At this point I was incomplete shock and tears were quickly running down my face.

"That's my dad!" I yelled as they put him in the van.
"Emma?" I heard a struggling voice say. "Dad?" I cried barely getting his name out of my mouth,"Honey everything is gonna be ok,please call your mother and tell her to come pick you up,you will visit me later in the hospital." He said,i could hear the pain in his voice.

This made me cry even harder."No dad i am not leaving you,i am going to stay by your side the whole time!" I cried as I got inside the van with him,by then he was unconscious so he couldn't speak.

"What happened to him?" I asked the emergency helper.
"He was on his way to your apartment to visit you when he saw a man running away with a woman's daughter. The man had obviously kidnapped the little girl so your dad attempted to stop the guy. Luckily he stopped him but got shot in the process."

"The police say that the person got away but fortunately the girl got back to her mother. Neither your father or the girl could describe his face because he wore a ski mask. I'm really sorry about all of this,I know you probably weren't expecting it." She said with sorrow in her eyes.

I nodded still bawling my eyes out.I decided to call the sister sqaud and tell them to meet me at the hospital because something terrible had happened.

Ethan's POV
Me and grayson were eating dinner when we got a text from Emma saying that we needed to urgently come over to the hospital because something terrible had happened.This made my heart beat out of my chest because I thought something happened to her.

Me and Gray quickly finsihed our dinner then drove down to the hospital. Emma was there waiting in the waiting room where usaully in movies they tell you something negative about what happened to your injured/ill relative.

Me and Grayson went towards her in a panicked manner.Emma wasn't hurt. A sigh of relief left my mouth. She came running into my arms crying her eyes out.

"Babe it is ok." I said as I felt her crying hard into my shirt. She removed her face from my shirt and went to give grayson a hug. He also gave her a tight hug.

"I'll tell you what happend but lets just wait for James."she said,I could hear the lump in her throat. She sat right next to me on the couch and I cuddled her up. She rest her head on my chest.

A few minutes later James arrived.He saw Emma's position on me and had a questioning face but he then quickly exchanged to a sorrow look on his face.

Emma jumped up off my lap and went to hug James.They huged for about a minute.He stroked her hair as he told her everything was gonna be ok. Her face was buried in his shirt.They soon broke from the hug.

"Thanks guys for being here,I really appreciate it."Emma said.
"Anything for you." We all said in sync. That made us laugh a bit.

Emma went to sit on my lap while James went to sit down next to Grayson.

"Firstly James and Gray I know you might be confused as to why I am sitting on Ethan's lap like we are dating and that's because we are." Emma said proudly. She then gave me a peck on the lips.

"I already knew." Said gray and
"I saw it coming." Said James. We all laughed.

Emma's POV
We all laughed at what Gray and James had just said but then I remebered why I was even here at the hospital. My face immediately turned sad again. "Hey it is ok." Ethan said as he gave me a kiss on the cheek.

I smiled a bit but I still had a sad look on my face. I told them what had happened and by the end of the story we were all crying. Ethan held me in a tight hug for about 2 minutes while James and Gray talked about it.

"Emma we love you so much and we are really sorry that this happened to you. If there is anything you need or want to talk about we are all here for you." James said while Gray and Ethan agreed.

The doctor then came asking to talk to me. I got up off Ethan's lap and went to speak to her privately. She told me that they took him to an emergency surgery to get the bullet out and that they would be done in about an hour and a half.

She told me that I could take this time to go get food or changing clothes for my dad. I agreed with her and walked back to the sister sqaud.

I told them that I hadn't eaten and about the surgery and how I had time to go grab a bite and that if they needed something now was the time to get it.I felt my phone ring in my pocket it.

"Hey mom." I said,happy that she called me.
"Hey love I heard what happened and i am on my way to the hospital right now. I am grabbing my keys and I am just about to hop in the car." I could hear that she had been crying. "Mom its gonna be ok,they took dad into surgery and he won't be out for another hour and a half."I said.

"Oh." She said. I could hear her pit her keys down and sit on the couch.
"Have you eaten darling, i could take you out for dinner."she suggested.
"Ya sure i'll drive over to your house and we can grab a bite together." I told her. She then agreed and I dropped the phone.

I went back to the others. "Hey guys i am going to go out to dinner with my mom and we can meet back at the hospital in an hour and a half ok?" I told them the last part not really being a question.They all agreed and Ethan and Gray drove me over to my mom's house as my car was still at my apartment.
