chapter 8

Emma's POV
I arrived at my mom's house. I kissed Ethan goodbye and gave Gray a hug.

"Thanks guys see you in about an hour and a half."
"Bye baby." Ethan said and they drove off. Wow I love it when he calls me that I thought to myself.

"Hi darling," my mom said as I entered her house. "I decided we should just eat here,so I made your favourite...mac and cheese with a greek salad." "Thanks mom." I said immediately getting a lump in my throat.

"Darling..." she said and before she could finish I fell into her arms crying my eyes out...again. Gosh I was so sick of myself.

"I know,it is gonna be ok,your dad is gonna be ok."she said crying as well.

"I know." I sobbed. She gave me a kiss on the cheek and then we sat down to eat. I explained what had happened to dad but didn't cry as my mom had made me feel better and this food I was eating was AMAZING.

We finished our food and headed to the hospital. It had been about an hour and 15 minutes.

We arrived to the hospital and suprisingly the whole sister sqaud was already there.

"Hey," I said giving all of them a hug,my mom greeted them as well. A nurse then came out 2 minutes later saying that we could go and see him. Me and my mom nervously walked to his room.

"Dad!" I blurted out loudly ,"you're ok?!" I said both as a question and exclamation.
He could talk,"Yes love I am ok,they got the bullet out of my back,they say I am lucky because it just missed my spine which could have paralyzed me."

"Im so happy Fred." my mom exclaimed. "You had me worried sick!" Me and my mom gave him a huge hug. I was so happy that my dad was ok. I went to the sqaud to tell them the good news.

"Guys my dad is ok!They got the bullet out and the nurse just told me that they are gonna discharge him in a few days!" I said happily.

"That is great news Emma we are all so happy for you!!" Ethan said while we formed a group hug. Man I just loved him so much. I loved my friends as well. I felt safe in their arms.

"Thanks guys for being here for me." I said as we all left the hospital. We had agreed to all go out for dinner to celebrate. I had already told my mom and she said it was fine.

We went to my favorite Chinese restaurant  and we had a great time. Well that was before something terrible happened. I got news from one of my bestfriends that my abusive ex boyfriend was out of jail. Apparently he had connections and was bailed out!

OMG I thought to myself as we finished up our dinner...this is not good.

I just wanted to scream and cuddle up to Ethan. I had to tell the sqaud. Tommorow I thought as they dropped me off at my apartment.

"Thanks for dinner guys." I said getting out of the car.
"Pleasure bye baby." Ethan said.
"Wait!" I yelled as Gray started the car to drive away.

"Yes?" Ethan replied, "Please can you stay with me tonight Ethan, I am still a bit traumatized about my dad." I said hinting towards all the police who were leaving the crime scene only to come back tommorow morning.

"Ok,sure." He said hopping out of the car and saying goodnight to Gray and James.

Ethan's POV
I understood why Emma wanted me to stay with her I thought to myself as we entered her apartment. She must be really scared right now.

We walked upstairs to her bedroom and got dressed into PJ's. I just took off my shirt since I had none. We cuddled up in bed together. I held her tight so she could feel protected.

"Hey Eth?" she asked me,"Yes?" I replied stroking her hair.
"I think I am ready to tell you what I couldn't tell you when you found me crying at your patio." She said. "Really?" I said now sitting up to hear her clearly.

Emma's POV
"Well the truth is that I used to have a boyfriend," I started but began to get a lump in my throat just thinking about him. "It is ok." Ethan said as he began to rub my back.

I could feel the tears coming out of my eyes. "You know if you aren't ready..." He was saying but then I cut him off, "No,no I'm ready."

"So I had this boyfriend...my ex...and well he used to sexually abuse me all the time. I wanted it to stop but he told me if I told anyone he would hurt my family." By now tears were quickly running down my face.

"He made me depressed and anxious and wanting to kill myself..." I just couldn't finish and balled my eyes out. Ethan hugged me tightly rubbing my back and telling me comforting things.

Wow he was just amazing. I didn't deserve him I thought to myself as I still cried into his chest.

"Wow I just don't deserve you." I said as I lifted my red face from his wet chest, "Emma we both know that is not true,you are the most talented,beautiful girl I have ever met and I don't regret any moment I've spent with you." He said making me smile widely.

I hugged him tight and decided I would finish my story.

"So my ex...well my mom caught him and knocked him out one of the nights he abused me. He left me on the floor bloody and my mom helped me and fixed me up."

"When we headed to the living room to call the police my mother realized that he got away. Luckily the police found him and he got arrested. My mom also took me to the doctor and the doctor told me I had minor injuries that will heal over the course of a year and a half which he suggested I shouldn't have intercourse."

At this point Ethan was really mad and I could see he wanted to beat the hell out of Eric. I was really scared to tell him the next part because I knew he would be furious to hear it.

"Eth, I dont know if you want to hear the next part."
"Hey baby you can tell me. I will do anything to keep you safe. I won't ever let him or anyone else hurt you...EVER." He said with a serious look in his eyes.

"Thats the problem." I said tearing up again. Omg this must be the millionth time I have cried today I thought to myself.

"Emma tell me...please...I want to protect you." He said while giving me a hug for the millionth time today. I never got tired of them though.

"My friend told me he is somehow out of jail and i am so scared that he is gonna come and try and hurt me or my family." I cried.

"I won't let him hurt you!" Ethan said. I could hear that he was crying as well. I hugged him back as well. We sat like that for a while before he suggested I get some rest. I then cuddled up to him and fell asleep.
