Meanwhile, upstairs...

Gabriel was hesitant to open the door because what ever was on the other side just made the great 6 foot Dean Winchester cry, but he had to know. Slowly he opened the door looking in meekly. "Sam," he called out softly. He heard a quick sniff before she came into view coming from her desk area. "Hey Gabriel." She said trying her hardest to keep her voice from showing how hard she cried. She didnt show anyone other than Dean and her parents that side of her and she wasn't about to do so in front of a boy who only knows her because their rooms are next to one another. "What do you need?" She asked as if she didnt just have a full on break down.

"Can I come in?" He asked tentatively. She opened her door with her arm out stretched to show he could come in. He walked over to the window and sat on one of the cushions. She walked after him sitting down on her leg across from him.

"So, what did you want to say?" She asked putting Gabriel at a loss of words. I mean what was he supposed to ask? What's up, how have you been? Why is everyone being so secretive and why did you run off crying? What kind of songs will we be playing? He thought to himself. He realised he still hadn't answered so thinking quickly he asked,"Are you ok?"
"Uhh yea, I mean I guess I got sad that my parents wouldnt be here you know to meet the baby?" She answered quickly surprising herself with how easy she lied. In truth she wasn't even thinking about that but now she was. Why was it that because of one drunk driver she has to go on without her parents? Her brother has to become a father without help on knowing how and she had to go through sickness and teenage years with out a mom and dad because of one drunk driver?
"Listen I get that but I," he paused trying to figure out what he would say next," Listen if you ever need me I'm here." He said placing his hand on hers. Her heart fluttered by the contact as she retracted her hand,"umm thanks. So if you're still up for joining the band, I could show you a few of the songs." She said getting up and walking over to her electric piano she got while in the hospital to pass time and before she knew she was performing for the out patients receiving chemo or there for family. "Do you have acoustic or electric?" "I have an acoustic, but I've played both." He answered.
"Cool, so we play 'what about us','Rise up',and 'house of memories' for the dance." She said nodding giving him copies of her sheet notes, but he noticed different papers that were handwritten." What are those?" He asked pointing to them. She grabbed them quick as if scared he'd seen. She nervously tucked her hair behind her ear. "Umm they're nothing just something I've been working on." She said trying to be casual." Cool, can I see it?"" No," she answered very quickly, "I mean it's not that good." It was a song she'd been writing and it was pretty personal. It was called ' paper in the wind' and sadly it was about being forgotten. "Maybe you could sing it for me sometime." Gabriel said hopefully. "Yea maybe," she said smiling. They stained into each others eyes for a moment not wanting to break the hold and slowly Gabriel leaned over and kissed her and to his relief she kissed back.

Once they pulled away the felt a little awkward but very happy. "So I uhh better get started on practicing these." Gabriel stuttered holding the song sheets.

"Oh uhh yea so I guess umm I'll see you in the morning then." She said waving.
"Yea see you in the the," he stopped from bumping into the doorframe earning a giggle."the morning and that's the door." He said chuckling.

Both go to bed with anticipation to see one another again, but he cant help but worry about her. She couldnt help but prey he wouldnt worry about her. If hes gonna like her she wants to know he likes her not out of pity. She put on her nightly oxygen with the medicine trying to keep the tumor from her lungs and her last thought was, 'dont worry, please.'
