Mei's POV
'Did I mistaken it or was Yuzu acting all mature and grown up earlier?! That wasn't like her at all! I was expecting something reckless and with no logic, not words like the ones she used!' I kept fussing over Yuzu's strange behavior when I heard the teacher address me. "Aihara Mei. Please proceed with your presentation." "Of course." Standing up, I grab the medallion that Yuzu made and walk to the front of the classroom. "My assignment was over a long lost item that once was under the possession of King Hiryuu, one of Japan's previous leaders. Others may refer to him as the Great King, or The Red Dragon, since there is a myth that refers to 4 Dragon Warriors who were all servants of him. This medallion was made almost 3,000 years ago. It has a dragon carved in the middle of it and was likely made of gold." I hold out the medallion for the class to see. "I see. You may sit down miss Aihara. Great job like always." I bow and take my seat. Looking back to Yuzu, she sends a wink at my way and I blush, turning away. "Aihara Yuzu! You're up next." "Well actually sir, I didn't have the time to complete my project, but I could-" "Of course you wouldn't do it. You know Aihara, it doesn't take a genius to make a short project on history with all the things you have access to in these days." "Geniuses don't understand the feelings of people who aren't able to do something." 'What?!'
Yuzu's POV
The teacher was frozen at my words but eventually spoke up. "How foolish can you be to talk up to your teacher?" "Even if it is reckless... I don't think someone who is making their best effort to try and overcome any situation is foolish." "Do you even count your empty words of protest?!" "There is strength in words... Sometimes, they become words of power. I thought that if I would for once listen to an order of no inside purpose, then it would not be so empty anymore... I was wrong." "Are you calling my assignment empty?! That's it! Detention and no more breaks for you until you discipline!" "Taking away someone's freedom is the ugliest thing one can do in this world. People like that ought to decay into dirt and come back as thorny roses." The teacher then froze. He gathered his things and walked out of the classroom. I sigh and relax on my chair. "That young man needs to learn how to listen. I was about to tell him that I could proceed with my presentation even if I didn't have my notes with me." Then a girl stood up and addressed me. "How could you talk back to our teacher?! He is a genious on world history and you hold no chance against him!" "Prodigies don't understand how the incompetent feel. I know that I have no strengths to offer. It irritates me how useless I am. But let me at least try to defend my own actions." "N-nobody talked about that! It was an order from school an dwe are supposed to complete it!" A few yeah's and way to go's were heard in the classroom as I received many glares. Harumin and Mei were about to speak up but I cut them off as I stood up. "If you simply obey orders without question to please your superiors, that isn't your greatest goal, but your greatest tragedy. Having my actions decided for me from people that I don't know goes against my view of beauty. I might be the ugly duckling of the group, but does not represent my whole being." With that, I sit down.
