Hope you enjoy!
I was really proud of the first chapter. I think I did ok.
Nevertheless, this is one of my favorite ships in The Wings of Fire series. Love with an undying passion.
Please tell me if I did it justice.
This one-shot I made was set in replacement (so to speak) of when Blue emerges from the cocoon.PLEASE YELL IF EVERYTHING I WRITE IS CRAP. BE NICE, THOUGH.
I can also make another one that's slightly different too.
I'll try to stick closely to the canon, so Sundew and Swordtail will be on there as well.
Also, SUNDEW X BLUE anyone? I'll make a fic about it anyway, though...
(I'm also trying to add a one-shot to about them ((AND SUNTAIL)) too in the same universe that this is taking place. ;))
BTW, Kinkajou and Turtle, Carnelian and... Umber? Any ideas on pairings with Kinkajou and Carnelian.

Cricket didn't know where to begin describing what had just happened recently.
Maybe it was with Sundew's thirst for vengeance that caused the clot of thinking in Cricket's mind.
It could be the fact that Sundew wanted to use Blue to destroy the Hives.
Maybe it was Swordtail's obvious distrust with HiveWings, ergo Cricket, in general.
Possibly because Blue was still in his cocoon. Not having Blue around was a novelty to Cricket.
Cricket still had questions. She always had a question.
'How long does metamorphosis take?'
'What does Blue experience during that time?'
'Do ALL the LeafWings feel the same about HiveWings as Sundew?'
HiveWings. She knew that not all of them weren't as bad as Queen Wasp, but Sundew wasn't listening. Neither was Swordtail. It seemed, to their mind, that Cricket embodied the thing they were fighting, not the thing that could help save the HiveWings.
It was frustrating, not having Blue here. He'd understand. He always did. He was a SilkWing that could see hope in the darkness of dragons.
Cricket knew he was bound to come out of his shell, eventually. But how would they tell him about Luna? Blue loved Luna.
But she couldn't do anything.
So she sat and asked questions.
At least Sundew and Swordtail were out; Sundew needed to restock on some of her insects in her pouch and Swordtail had followed. So many insects and flowers Cricket had never seen before.
So many.
So many she could study. But she couldn't do anything but sit.
And wait.
Hugging the Blue-sized cocoon, she slowly wondered just how Sundew was able to block the front entrance. But as she drifted off to sleep, she felt a twitch.
At first, Cricket thought it was her wings. No, that's not right. It was her ears.
Oh, okay. She thought to herself. She felt herself drifting again, but she felt another twitch. This one seemed... bigger. More insistent. Cricket then rose on her haunches and stretched, getting into a sitting position. It was useless to sleep, she thought. She might as well sit.
And wait.
