Drifting, drifting, drifting. I jerk my head up for the eleventh time today and try really hard to understand what my calculus teacher is trying to beat into my pint sized brain. I really should've had coffee this morning.
The bell rings and I realize that I fell asleep again.
I close my unused book and toss it into my backpack.
"I'm gonna need to borrow your notes again." I say to my best friend, Nora."I thought you weren't going to stay up late anymore, it's so not good for you, Poet."
"I know but you know when I start reading I can't stop, I literally make a challenge out of it, like how many more chapters until I actually go insane?"
"You can borrow them, but it's the last time, I'm not kidding."
"Yeah, you say that every time." I say as I push the door open and head towards my locker."So what book was it this time?"
"Lovely bones, I just started it." I say while swinging my backpack off my shoulder and turning the dial on my locker.
"So... I need to talk to you about somethi"
I get cut off by a huge impact and then
WHAM! my head hits the floor."Oh my God, I'm so sorry." I hear a frantic voice say. I blink a couple times and take in my surroundings.
I look up and am hit by stormy green eyes and a face full of freckles that's literally inches away from mine.
"It's okay." I say, trying to not cry from the searing pain shooting from my skull. He stands up and reaches down.
I grab his hand and mount my feet on the ground.
I try to keep myself from blushing because well he's very cute."I'm sorry again." He lets go of my hands and takes off faster than he came.
