The Sun rode high in the blue, cloudless sky, overlooking the streets of paris. Beams of warm light cascaded down the walls of the buildings and painted the city a bright, lively shade. In the middle of it all stood the cities monument, the most admired structure. What people from all over the world came just to see, even people as far as America. The Eiffel tower.

The eiffel tower stood tall, a large structured web of browned, metallic beams, supported by large blocks of copper color. The mess of wires and poles were woven together in a strange, yet beautiful sight, coming together and meeting in a large point at the top. The setting sun outlined the tower in a dark red, filtering through the holes in the web and casting a huge, rosy shadow below its looming form. There was also an important bridge that connected the city to the other half, riding the waves of the waters that it bordered. A young, italian couple sat on a light tan bench, enjoying a shared ice cream from the famous Andre's cart just a couple paces away, talking softly and pointing at the sky. Behind them was a large, blue sign featuring the young model Adrien Agreste. He was a handsome fourteen year old with dark eyebrows framing perfect green eyes. His Golden blonde hair was combed neatly into an almost animated shape that curled at the base. He wore a gray derby laced with feathers and a sharp, dark gray suit over a white, button- up shirt. He wore black jeans and shiny shoes. in the picture, the teen model was featured folding his arms, his mouth set in a small smirk that added to his naturally attractive features. Over the model the sign wrote, "Radiant, Carefree, Dreamy." in larger letters, framed with clouds, was the words. "Adrien, the Fragrance." A group of girls giggled, pointing at the sign with longing. They were so engrossed in their admiration for the model that they didn't notice that someone was watching them.

Above them, perched on the top of the advertising sign was a young girl, dressed in a red, skin-tight suit, spotted black like the shell of a ladybug. A small, rosy purse was strapped around her small waist and her dark blue-black hair was tied into buns with red ribbons. Her dark hair framed her face, waving above enchanting bluebell eyes, surrounded by a thin, red, spotted mask that rounded at the ends, keeping her identity a secret. Her ears slightly poked out of her hair, carrying red ladybug earrings. The earrings were one of the powerful jewels called the miraculous. The miraculous contained little creatures called kwamis. Small, floating companions that allowed their holders/ super heros to transform. Her kwami was named Tikki. Tikki was like the sister she never had, guiding her with soft, encouraging words and inspiring her with her wisdom. Tikki was her best friend and not only could she not transform without tikki, but she would also be broken without her. Tikki and her were inseparable.

The girl in the mask, referred to by all as Ladybug, sat with her long legs dangling over the large image of Adrien Agreste.

Ladybug let her eyes travel over the city she called home, eyes softening. In paris, the people would be heading to their beds, gathering around to read a bedtime story, as they were able to sleep in peace, under the watchful eyes of their protectors. Ladybug was an idol to them, she knew that much, a hero of paris and the guardian of her home. If it hadn't been her sitting there in the ladybug costume, the responsibility would have been overwhelming, but not to ladybug. When she wore the mask, Ladybug felt all her fears and self doubt slip away. When she was ladybug, she was confident and smart. Many of her fans adored her and admired her courage and skills. Ladybug's grin melted into a frown as she was reminded of her civilian self. Without the mask though, Ladybug was nothing interesting. She was a clutz named Marinette Dupain Cheng! Disaster seemed to follow her wherever she went. From spilling her cereal on the ground, tripping over a cat, to even tripping over her own feet! Without the mask, she was just a shy, awkward girl who was noticed by no one, especially her crush. Her deepest secret besides her identity was that she was in love with a boy in her class. The boy sat in front of her. He was none other then the famous model, Adrien Agreste. Adrien was kind and meant well, but it was clear that he did not feel the same emotions for her as she did him. Marinette was in love with him. She had fallen in love that day when he had offered her his umbrella in the rain. Adrien was handsome, encouraging, kind ,very polite and modest. In Marinette's eyes, he was perfect. But Marinette could barely get a word out when she talked to him! If he asked her a question all she would say was: "oh, uh, er, ehehehe, i uh...*gulp* and Adrien would give a confused expression and respond cooly before walking away. Marinette loved and admired everything about him, so much that he rendered her speechless! But Adrien had only ever seen her as a good friend who he hung out with along with his bud Nino lahiffe and Marinette's bestie, Alya cesaire. Ladybug sighed. Sometimes it felt like she was never destined to be in love.
