Beth opened the door to an empty and blank room. It had a bed with plain white sheets in a corner and a couple white cabinets across from it, beside the cabinets were a desk.Next to the bed was a bedside table, a lamp with a yellow lampshade was placed directly in the middle. Yellow, Giselle thought, my favorite color.

"I'll let you get yourself at home. Your assigned nurse will come and check in on you in about 45 minutes, I think you'll like her." Beth said with a kind smile plastered on her face.

Giselle set down her duffel bag, she smiled as she remembered she packed her comforter from home, along with posters of her favorite band, pictures of her family, and a couple drawings her younger sister made for her.

Joy washed over Giselle as she looked proudly over her newly decorated room. Her sunny yellow comforter and a couple of her favorite stuffed animals now covered what used to be a plain white bed. The walls were plastered with posters of her favorite band, One Direction, and a couple drawing that her sister made. The once empty desk now had pictures of her family and her dog, Ollie. Giselle's wardrobe now filled with her clothes, seemed less dull and more full of life.

Giselle sat in her desk and let out a giggle as she saw the goofy picture of her dog. Ollie was a chihuahua-pug mix, which always confused Giselle, but no matter what she loved him with all her heart.

There was a soft knock on the door as it opened, in walked a girl who looked very young. she had long brown hair and was wearing a nurses uniform. "I'm Ella, I'm your assigned nurse." she said as she shut the door behind her.

"I'm actually quite new to this facility, I graduated in the summer, and now I work here. We can figure out this place together!" Ella enthusiastically said.

Knowing Ella was also new to this place gave Giselle a needed feeling of comfort, although her room was all decked out, she still felt odd and out of place.

"It's just about lunch, so I'll bring you to the cafeteria." Ella said motioning for Giselle to join her.

Giselle stood up and was hit by a wave of sadness. It was final. She was really here. The overwhelming feeling of emptiness over took Giselle once again. Before she had got here she was actually kind of excited, but also very scared for a change.Where she lived people were cruel and rude to everybody, but it was her home. The feeling of peace she had earlier morphed back into that stomach wrenching feeling of emptiness that she always felt. She had momentarily forgotten about this horrible feeling, but now that it was back it felt like the soul had been sucked out of her once again.

Giselle followed Ella out of her room and down the hall hastily as the familiar thoughts of suicide and hopelessness washed into her head.
