Gimmelwald,
SwitzerlandEthan sat silently on the vast greenery scene, praising Allah for all His creation. "Subhanallah..." He whispered to himself, sipping a new dose of Iman in his beating heart. This heart that beat for Him, the owner of all hearts.
He pondered a bit, looking at the indistinct houses in the small town of Gimmelwald. Most of the house's rooftops were made of red wavy tiles, the colour faded and mould started to form around them.
Then, he lowered his gaze as he remembered his dreams last night.
Flashback
Ethan panted heavily as he abruptly woke up from his satin covered bed. Beads of sweat were trickling down his forehead as he tried to calm down.
He dreamt of a guy, with a dark raven hair and a piercing hazel eyes, looking at him.
Weird, he thought.
He performed Istikharah consecutively for seven days, hoping that Allah showed him his destination that could make him happy for the last few years of his life. Allah showed him the way, but he never thought a guy would show up in his dreams.
What does that mean actually?
Flashback ended
Back at the Maiden's Reverie Cottage, where Ethan lived, Aunty Samantha had prepared him his lunch. A nice, warm risotto with hamburger and sandwich topped with raclette cheese. Ethan's nose twitched as he entered the kitchen.
"Hmm, subhanallah, what is this wonderful smell?" He asked, stepping near to Aunty Samantha. The middle aged woman laughed, her face slightly red from happiness. "It's lunch honey, and don't worry, it's halal and safe to eat." Aunty Samantha reminded. Ethan giggled. "Of course, I'm among the ones that slaughtered the cow after all." They both giggled and smiled to each other.
In the town of Gimmelwald, a small population of people surrounded by a vast greenery expanding from every parts of the town. While being surrounded by such vast nature and the Alps that reached hundreds of kilometres, the villagers lived happily, enjoying their everyday life.
Ethan was one of the villagers who lived in Gimmelwald, and one of the Muslims that lived in that village occupied by not more than 300 people. Most of them worked as a farmer, while some of them transfer to another village to get a more decent job.
Gimmelwald wasn't so much of a disappointing town. It has complete facilities ranging from schools to hospitals. Some of the people just left the town to gain more experience in their life that's all.
"By the way, are you really sure that you wanted to study abroad, Ethan?" Aunty Samantha asked, twisting her cheesy risotto and stuffed it in her mouth. Ethan nodded.
Ever since he saw that dream, he was tracking down the respective person. After numerous attempts of searching, he finally found that person, who lived far away in the town of Westchester, USA.
