Ethan frowned as he examined the smartphones that was lined inside the glass box. Which one should he chose? He had never been picky about telephones before so the phone he used before was a button type of phone, which was an old, no, VERY old model of phones, like the ancestors of all the smartphones that were born nowadays.
While Ethan was squeezing his brain to decide on a phone, Jack who was standing behind him took this chance to glance around the store for some hot chicks to woo. Unfortunately, the store was filled with nothing but a few costumers and the workers. Jack sighed in despair.
"Hey, have you finish deciding yet?"
"Uh... Unfortunately, not yet."
Jack rolled his eyes.
He stepped beside Ethan and scanned the smartphones. "If I were you, I'll buy this model. Fast RAM and huge storage, suitable for assignment purpose." Jack pointed towards a smartphone brand. Ethan stared at Jack for awhile before answering. "You... Really know alot about this thing, huh?" He was in awe. Jack blushed and looked away. "No I'm not. If you didn't want to buy it we could just leave this place. We have a lot more places to go." He said, referring to another store that they'll have to visit for groceries and living necessities.
"Wait! I'll buy it." Ethan hastily answered and called the shopkeeper. After a few transactions, Ethan bought the phone that Jack recommended.
...
When they finally reached home, it was already past 9 o'clock in the evening. Jack who was tired and felt really sluggish gathered all his might to drag all the groceries that they bought to the kitchen and retreated to the bedroom. When he brushed pass Ethan who was on his way to the kitchen, Ethan could hear something growling. Was it his stomach?
In Jack's room, he had already fell into a deep slumber without even taking his jacket off. Ethan peeked inside his room and saw Jack's figure who was already lying down comfortably on the bed. He sighed. "Well, maybe tomorrow I guess..."
...
3.45 a.m.
Jack woke up as he forced his eyelids to open. He couldn't take it. He felt really hungry right now. He quickly snatched his phone beside him to dial the number for pizza delivery. While praying for the pizza delivery to deliver his pizza faster without even ordering it yet, he stopped abruptly when he smelled something good coming from the kitchen.
"Is someone cooking at this time?" He monologued as he checked the time in his phone. Feeling shocked and a little scared at the same time, he mustered his guts to climb down the stairs to check up on who the person that was cooking at early in the morning.
Peeking inside the kitchen, his fear disappeared when he saw Ethan was stirring some soup in a pot while letting the beef risotto to heat inside the pan beside the pot.
"What are you doing?" After a long silence, Jack finally spoke. Ethan flinched and gasped when he heard Jack's voice. He quickly turned around and sighed in relief when he saw Jack. "Oh, it's you. I'm heating the risotto and making some beef soup. Go take a bath, or if you're lazy to do so, wash your face and come down again to eat."
Jack nodded idiotically. He was too stupid to think right now as he was too hungry. He last ate some food when they left Texas. After that, they were too busy with shopping and stuff until they forgot about eating matters. He quickly went to the washroom upstairs to wash his face and change his clothes.
When he went back to the kitchen, Ethan had already served the risotto on the kitchen counter. "Come, I have served your portions too." He said while scooping the soup inside the bowl and handed it to Jack who just sat on the stool beside the counter. "Thank you..." He slowly replied.
