"Aaminn..." Ethan covered his face with both of his hands before rubbing them gently on them. After that, he stood up and folded the sajadah he used to pray to put on the dark brown small cupboard beside his king sized bed.
After preparing himself to school, he strolled along the hallway and popped out his head inside Jack's room when he reached there.
"Zzz..." Jack softly snored.
It seemed like the big giant didn't woke up yet, so he stepped down the stairs to the kitchen to drink a glass of water. While chewing on some dates that he shipped with him from his home country, he left the house to school.
Westchester High School
MorningJack groaned as he placed his head on the table. He's not a morning person and it got worse when the first class for the day is history. Just why would human learn history? They'll just repeat the same stupid mistake although they learnt trillion of times, not because they forgot but because they are stupid.
Jack continue to curse until Ellie came. "Hey, babe." She hugged him from behind. With her is Amanda and Helen, her best friends. Jack didn't respond, he just sat still on his place. Ellie pouted, pretending to be sulky. But that didn't last long before she started looking for Ethan.
"Hey, where's that new housemate? I heard that he's in this school." She nudged him.
He shook his head. "Don't know, don't care."
Ellie gave him a gentle slap on the shoulder. "Well, you should care. What will happen if he got lost or something?"
Jack rolled his eyes. It's not like Ethan was a kid or anything, he's already 17 so he could take care of himself. And by the way, Jack was not his nanny so to hell with taking care of him first day in school.
The bell rang, indicating the first class of the day. Jack, who was prepared to drop his head on the table to sleep and not listening to the lesson suddenly stopped doing so when his teacher entered the classroom with someone that he definitely knew who it was.
"Good morning, students." Miss Marilyn spoke. Her tone sounded more calmer than usual. Well, usually she'll just shot people with mean word the moment she entered the classroom, like everyone in her class was her enemy or something.
"This is Ethan Ullman. He will be in our class starting today. Mr. Ullman, say your greetings." Miss Marilyn motioned Ethan to step forward.
He stepped forward, introducing himself simply and nodded slightly towards the whole class. For some reason, the class was silent. The usually chatterbox girls especially on new student seemed to shut their mouth.
Jack looked around. "Huh...." Then, he looked at Ellie and nudged her. "Why're you stunned? It's not like you've never seen him before." True. Yesterday, Margaret showed her his picture, so she should know his face by now.
"But you know, just look at him, he looks so calming, so... mysteriously enchanting." Ellie stared him, eyes sparkling. Jack rolled his eyes.
Miss. Marilyn also looked polite when she spoke to Ethan. That guy was indeed very mysterious.
After a short and simple introduction, Ethan sat somewhere at the corner of the class, trying to hide himself. When the class started, Jack couldn't help but gazed at the small figure of his housemate sometimes. He felt annoyed at him for some reason.
Class ended shortly after. The second lesson was physical education. Unfortunately, Ethan also in the same class as Jack this time.
