I stood frozen beside my husband and daughter staring in disbelief as my mother was just feet from me. She never came to Forks unless she desperately had to so why was she here? What would bring her back to this town if she had nothing to gain from it.

"Mom." I began. "What are you doing here?" I asked.

My mother continued her block of silence for a few more 'human' minutes before she finally spoke.

"Bella, where you just planning to keep me in the dark about this?" She asked.

I looked at Edward nervous and confused.

"Mom what you need to know about this is-" I began before I was quickly cut off by Edward.

"Your father is here." He said.

Sure enough my fathers crusier pulled up on the other side of our car. I held my index finger up to my mother wanting a moment and then walked to my fathers side.

"Dad." I breathed as I wrapped my arms around him for a hug. "You need to help me please." I literally begged.

My father leaned away and looked at my face which was screwed up in what I knew was sheer desperation. My normal calm expression wasn't there so my father knew something was up.

"Bella are you in trouble?" He quickly asked me.

I shook my head. "Not yet but mom is here, why is she here!" I hissed as I did my best to keep my voice low.

My dads head snapped up and his eyes widened when he saw my mother. "I couldn't tell you Bells" he replied cooly.

"Do you remember the story Edward told you about Renesmee?" I then preceeded to ask.

My father slowly nodded his head.  "The lie or the truth?" he asked.

I took a small breath to settle my anxiety a bit. "The lie, I need you to make mom believe that is the truth okay?"

My father wiped his chin nervously. "Bells you know I can't lie to your mother. I can't even lie at all why do you think you were so bad at it." He replied.

My desperate expression settled into a saddened state of melancholy. If my father couldn't help us then we had to leave for good. I didn't want to leave my family.

When I made eye contact again with my father he saw the pain in my face. He sighed. "Fine, I will try but you know your mother always calls my bluffs." he said as he turned to Sue. "Shall we get this over with?" he asked before they walked over to my mother.

I followed closely behind but stopped beside Edward and Renesmee. As I was about to resume my conversation with my mother my father spoke.

"So I assume you met Nessie?" He began. "She is quite the charmer huh?"

My mother looked at my father and slowly I could see her expression change from being upset to being confused. "Who is Nessie?" My mother asked.

I watched as my father nodded his head in our general direction. "Nessie is Bella and Edwards adopted daughter. Tecnically niece but its all the same now that I'm a grampa." He joked. "She belonged to Edwards-"

"Charlie why are you lying to me and what is going on?" My mother said.

My father let his eyes graze the scene before they went back to my mother. "What makes you think I'm lying?" he asked.

My mother walked closer to my father and tapped the side of his face. "You are blushing-" My mother then continued over to myside and looked from Renesmee to me and then to Edward and back. "What I don't understand is why you aren't blushing. I know you are lying because she looks just like you-"
