The sun is suprisingly not giving too much heat, pop music blaring through the speakers and the school grounds is crowded because of the event for today.

Donghyuck and Renjun are seated at the bleachers as they wait for their grade level batch to be called for their turn to run at the track and field.

"Are you sure about this?" Donghyuck is skeptical. He knows that Renjun doesn't like sweating, he's not an athletic person, and he doesn't like crowded places.

Renjun rolls his eyes, "Yes."

"I'm not going to drag your ass when you faint." Donghyuck crosses his arms, saying those words because he really means it.

"You are overreacting."

Donghyuck sighs, "I'm just worried."

Renjun pinches Donghyuck's cheeks and smiles at him widely.

"You act like I'm fragile and weak." Renjun jokes.

Donghyuck is about to nag him but he quickly speaks up and reassures him, "It's just one run. I don't have any sickness or what. I won't faint."

In the end, Donghyuck lets his bestfriend since Renjun is already wearing his sports attire. And he knows Renjun is the type of person who won't back out once he made a decision.

"Okay." Donghyuck sighs.

"Why won't you run?" Renjun asks his bestfriend.

"I donated money instead. You know I hate running and it's too crowded. Yikes." Donghyuck replies and Renjun emits a laugh.

"It's just one run."

"Still, I don't like it."

Moments later, the announcer calls their batch. Renjun bids goodbye and Donghyuck gives him a thumbs up.

"Don't trip and finish it without injuries!" Donghyuck shouts while Renjun jogs away.

Renjun goes to the middle and does a quick stretching routine.

"Ready!" The committee head of physical education shouts from the front line.

"3...2..." Then he whistles.

And everyone starts to run.

Renjun isn't running so fast like the others because he knows that this isn't a race. He runs in a normal pace but he makes sure he isn't left behind. Because he knows it'd be embarrassing if he's the only one being left behind while everyone is infront.
Almost all the students are on the grounds, including the department heads, faculties, and sponsors. So he doesn't want to hear any "Oh isn't he the loser wimp who can't run that's why he's meters away from everyone?"

And because Renjun's mind is occupied about his too conscious self, as expected, he trips on his own foot, causing him to plank down on the hard ground.

Renjun hears loud gasps, almost making those who are watching the run, snap their heads at his side.

Jaemin, who is calmly running at the front, slowly halts and looks behind at the sudden commotion, then he sees Renjun in a plank position.

Ah, he so tripped, he mentally says.

He's about to walk towards him but Renjun starts to clumsily stand on his own feet, scowling at the medical student volunteer who tries to help him. Even though his knees are so red and close to drip in blood, Renjun continues to run.

Jaemin shakes his head while smirking, he turns his heel to run towards the goal again. His smile never fades, still amused at how eager Renjun is.

After the run, Jaemin immediately goes to the medic tent, and then he grabs a first aid kit.

His eyes searches for Renjun, and sees the limping midget boy towards the bleachers.

"Hey, Renjun." Jaemin calls him.

Renjun didn't even spare a glance becuase he knows that stupid voice.

Jaemin puts the first aid kit at the bleachers before helping him to sit but Renjun slaps him away, which he regrets because his hand stings because of the mild bruises he got when he tripped awhile ago.

Renjun had no choice, he lets Jaemin help him.

And he stops himself from the urge to punch Jaemin's annoying smile on his face.

"Can I treat your bruises?" Jaemin politely asks.

Stop being so nice! It's annoying! Renjun yells at his head.

"My bestfriend can do that."

"But where is your bestfriend tho?" Jaemin replies. Looking around to spot Donghyuck.

Renjun's nostrils flare with annoyance but he calms himself, "Well, I can treat myself. I don't need your help."

"Can you tho?"

I swear that's the tone of mockery!

Renjun raises his eyebrow at the smiling Jaemin.

"Yes I can."

"Okay."

Jaemin waits for Renjun to open the first aid kit. But Renjun finally sighs in defeat.

"Okay. Whatever. I'll let you help me because I have no choice." Renjun looks away, giving his two hands at Jaemin.

"Ah. Pride and ego aren't really healthy." Jaemin teases him.

"I really want to kick you right now." Renjun hisses, still not looking at him.

"I'm looking forward to that." Jaemin laughs, making Renjun glare at him.

Renjun's icy glare meets Jaemin's soft chocolate eyes, two contradicting words yet a perfect combination.
