It was around 11:37pm on New Years Eve. You lay in bed, a book in hand and a cup of tea beside your bed. "Ah." You sigh gleefully. "The perfect way to end the year. My favorite book, my cozy duvet and a nice cup of tea. This is the life. I am going to enter 2019, well rested and ready for change." You pick up your iPod touch and log into Instagram. You take a quick selfie in your coffee bean face mask and post it to your story. "#natural #reaadyfor2019" You caption said picture. You close your phone and toss it to the edge of your bed.

Knock knock

"That's strange." You squint slightly. "Who would be at my home at this time?" Sliding on your gucci flip flops, you walk to the front door. To your surprise, the character at your door was your good friend, Shrek! You let him in and chat with the ogre for a few minutes.

It is now 11:58pm, it's nearing New Years Day! You ask Shrek, "Why did you come to visit me at such an odd time? Shouldn't you be out celebrating?" You didn't mind Shrek being there, you genuinely enjoyed his company. The question wasn't to be rude, but was out of pure curiosity.

11:59pm

"Well, y/n..." Shrek started off softly. "I was in hopes of spending this amazing transition with you. 2019 is a big year." He moved closer towards you, his gaze meeting your lips. "I was also hoping that you could... be my New Years first kiss?"

You were shocked at the request. You obviously couldn't reject the opportunity, Shrek was handsome. Tall, dark green and tasty.

12:00am MIDNIGHT

Cupping the sides of his round face, you pinned your lips against his. He immediately reciprocated this and kissed back, sensually. Now THAT was the perfect ending to 2018.
