Title: The Basketball That She Played [Kuroko no Basket Fanfiction]
Author: IvyXLacrimosa
Desctiption: If there's one thing that Kagome Kaori hates, it's the word potential. If there is one thing she ever truly loved, it would be basketball.
It was more than a surprise then, when she quit playing basketball during her last year of middle school and has avoided it at all costs. Seeing her obvious depression, her mother sends her on a temporary, and possibly permanent, exchange trip to Japan. And more specifically, sending her to Seirin High, where her cousin, Aida Riko, is the coach of the boys' basketball club.
Still, though, she avoids even touching a basketball at all costs, and the reasons behind this are unknown to everyone, even Riko and Kaori's mother.
But why would someone who had such a profound love of the game ever quit? And what can one Seirin team do to inspire her play again?
Why I Chose It: Well, I chose The Basketball That She Played because it looked like a good FanFiction to start me off. I've only recently started watching Kuroko no Basuke so I don't have a very good grasp on each character's personality yet.
I'll admit, the somewhat simple cover drew me in first, along with the title and I decided to read the description.
As you can read above, it's quite an attention grabber huh?
Well, it was to me. I was pretty curious as to what her secret is. I'm always a sucker for stories that have a hinted secret in them. They make me want to know so badly because at that moment, only the author knows. It drives me crazy but, then again, I like doing that too x3 hehe.
Anyways, as I read on, I noticed that the grammar was awesome as well as the spelling. Things didn't look silly or ridiculous.
Cause be honest with yourself, we've all read a story with a great description, title, and it had a great cover but then when you read the first chapter it's just like.. WUT.
And then you just kinda leave and never return to it. ._. but this story taunts you not! ^_^
I think it's beautifully written and honestly, it can make you very curious.
Most stories start going right at the romance part of it right? No with T.B.T.S.P.
Nope. I feel there's hints to feelings throughout it but, you honestly can't be too sure. It's very easy to get "lost" in this book. Not as in, you can't figure out what's going on but you just get so sucked into it. This is one of my favorite stories I've read so far.
For some, it's hard to get that into a book. With this one, it's really not. The chapters are long but not.. Overly long. Not to the point where you're actually wanting it to end. It's not too short either where you feel like, "Well where the heck's the rest of the story?!"
In the later chapters, she gives some good cliffhangers but, she continues each chapter well. I'm sure many of us can relate to having issue with continuing after a cliffhanger but, she does it well.
I suppose I should be ending this though. I don't want to ramble too much. ^-^"
So, I encourage you to check out The Basketball That She Played! It's well worth it!
