Pretend to be normal, if you want, but never REALLY be normal.
– UnknownKia's P.O.V
The next day at school I was excited to see Mason, but at the same time nervous.
I even took extra time picking out my clothes this morning.
The whole time I was trying to convince myself that I don't like him.
You're doing it for the money. He means nothing you, you mean nothing to him. He doesn't like you, you don't like him.
I chanted this mantra in my head for the whole ride to school.
Keep lying to yourself like that, you might actually start believing it. Voice scoffed.
The Voice has been trying to convince me that Mason likes me back.
I roll my eyes at the absurd thought.
Yeah right, Mason Small, heir to the Small Industries, biggest company in the world, likes plain old Kia Allen?
Kia Allen, awkward, anti-social, middle class, doesn't own a business Kia Allen.
No way Voice.
Lancer waved at me as he made his way into the school.
I waved back and gave a small smile.
I looked down at my attire, I picked out a light pink dress that stopped right above my knee and a gold sandals. The dress came with a fine gold belt and had sleeves that stopped at my elbow.
Deep breath now Kia.
I clutched my books and made my way through the doors.
"Hey Kia." Damon greeted, slinging his arm across my shoulder.
I smiled up at him, "Hey Damon, what's up?"
"I should ask you, looking very sexy" he wiggled his brows at me playfully.
I laughed and shook my head.
Turning my head to the front, I notice Mason.
He was glaring at me.
Oh My gosh, what did I do?
I gulped.
It took me a minute to realize that it wasn't me he was glaring at.
It was Damon's arm that was hung loosely around me.
The rest of the group was preoccupied chatting about things they did over the weekend.
I shrug of Damon's hand. Mason visibly relaxed and walked over to me.
"I was going to break his arm" he said once he reached me.
I grinned like an idiot.
He smiled and took me in his arms.
I could stay here forever..
Then the bell rang.
I scowled.
That stupid bell.
Mason pulled back and smiled at me.
"See you later." I mumbled, still pissed at the stupid bell.
I hope it burns in hell.
"Kia." Mason's voice cut through my angry thoughts towards the bell.
I looked up at him.
His lips contacted mine.
