I didn't like chocolate all that much, it was just that it was today's special, and they had too much of it anyways.

Chocolate cake was fine,
it was chocolate ice cream that I preferred.
Though, I wasn't too picky.

I'd always order the first thing I laid my eyes upon and then moved.
Unlike others, they went as far as asking for cheesecake without cheese.

It was honestly baffling but I couldn't say much either, no matter how much of a valid opinion it was.

The number of snickers and scoffs I heard while walking over to the table at the back
wasn't unbearable but it was annoying.

Time had passed and the chocolate ice cream slowly started to drip, that was the annoying part of ice cream.

You couldn't take your time and savour it completely. And so I ate it whole, four quick bites and it was gone. It was a small cone whoever thought so otherwise was only doing so to be judgemental.

Like the people beside me,
"Slow down, don't want you blowing up"

It wasn't even a witty insult,
my gaze shifted over to the group of students if they were any closer I wouldn't have hesitated to throw hands.

These sorts of things shouldn't be able to bother me, yet they still somewhat did.

I couldn't muster up the courage to talk back, the chocolate was good enough to distract me again.

"Too scared talk?"
"It's, too scared to talk"

I didn't want or need someone to defend me generally, but it was much appreciated at the moment. There was another boy in front of the group, his hands were shoved down deep in his pockets yet he stood straight and tall gazing down intently.

That oddly shut them up,  they got up and walked away in silence, though on the way out I got a series of nasty looks and mouthed insults. Their ego got deflated faster than anyone's I've ever witnessed.

It took a while, but I finally turned to the boy.
"Uh, thanks"
"Eating too much of that isn't healthy"
Weird way the world works.

"Hey weren't you just defending me a minute ago?", my eyebrows furrowed together yet he seemed unaffected.

"Don't get too frank, I only did it because it was annoying me", he motioned towards the front table where a series of papers and notebooks were scattered along with a small piece of velvet cake placed at the side, untouched.

"Well, I'm sorry", though I cursed him underneath my breath. Unlike the group of students before I had a whole load of rock hard insults to throw.

But all I did in the end, was order more dessert and eat whilst quietly letting all worries sink.
