How annoying.
You were trying to get to your office, but mounds of schoolgirls flood the streets, blocking your path. Their squeals can be heard from blocks away. More and more girls join the masses.
And there they were, the culprit of your annoyance. One of the biggest boy bands in Korea - Exo.
Most girls would be thrilled to see their flowing bleached hair up close. But you were different. You couldn't care less about these worshipped idols; you just wanted to get to your office.
"Excuse me," you mumble as you try to push pass the screaming girls.
"Hey! You're getting too close to the boys!"
You feel a large hand grab your shoulder. Turning around, you see a buff security guard towering over you, a very angry look on his face.
"No, you've got it wrong, I just-"
To your surprise, one of the members of the band shoved his arm in between the two of you.
Having just enough time to slip away, you quickly maneuver your shoulder from the guard's hand.
"Wait."
The boy who had intervened stops you, gripping your hand in his. His appearance is boyish, his long brown hair just above his eyes. "I'm really sorry that this happened. Do you want an autograph? Maybe a picture?"
You laugh, and he stares at you in shock.
"Listen, I understand that your guard was just doing his job, so it's okay. But, no, I don't want an autograph or picture or anything else. Please, let me go, so I can maybe make it to my job on time."
You tear your arm from his grasp and storm off. How dare he assume that you can be written off with an autograph?!
You push your frustrated thoughts out of your head as you focus on your computer work.
"Uh, _____? You have a visitor," you hear your intern say.
With an eyebrow raised, you look up from your screen. Your eyebrow immediately drops and you almost choke on your sip of coffee.
"Who are you?!" You exclaim, your anger growing. It was the same boy from before, leaning over your monitor, his round eyes boaring into you.
"My name is Byun Baekhyun."
"Uh...okay, Baekhyun, I'm _____. How did you find my office?"
"I may have followed you...but, for a good reason! I realized how rude and assuming I had been on the street, and I really wanted to personally apologize for that."
You look at him skeptically. Well...he had faced the fans, just to get into your office...maybe you could forgive him.
"Thank you, Baekhyun. I accept your apology. So, you can leave here completely guilt-free."
You return to your work, until he places his hand on yours.
"Would it be okay if I took you out for coffee sometime as an apology? We could arrange it so we can avoid the fans. You're very beautiful...could it maybe be considered a date?"
Your cheeks heat up with a rosy blush.
"I don't know if that's a good idea...."
"I'll wait for your answer. I left my number with your intern. I hope to see you soon."
He smiles at you half-heartedly before exiting your office space.
You let out a breath you had been holding. Was he being serious with you...?
All day, you have silent debates with yourself. Should you? Or was he just messing with you?
You remember how sincere he looked. How his eyes softened as he asked you for a date. You had never been looked at by boy like that before.
You knew your answer now. Dialing the number your intern gave you, you wait nervously as the call goes through.
He picks up on the first ring.
"Do you have your answer, _____?"
"Yes. I'd love to go on a date with you, Byun Baekhyun."
