The next morning.
The morning sun kisses my skin as it rises. The warmth of the sun feels good against my pale cold skin.
Throughout the night I didn't sleep. I am all out of sleep aids to assist with my insomnia. An there is no way Rick will let me leave to go into town to get some more.
I don't know how much more my body can take of these rest less nights.I got up and walked into the common area to see carol and Beth awake and cooking. Well Beth trying to cook while holding the tiny infant in her frail arms.
"Do you need any help" I said putting it out there to either one of them.
"It's okay sweetie we got it" carol said.
I don't think they trust me with the baby. I love babies an I would never hurt such an innocent creature. But than again I only just got here and they don't know me.
Slowly everyone starts emerging from their nights of rest. And gather around the common area. Carol is serving bowls of oatmeal and I gladly take one. I can hear my stomach screaming for me to fill it with food. When everyone was finished they all put away the bowls and went on to do their thang.I asked Rick if he needed anything done.
"Yeah could you help carol clean up" Rick asked as he walked away.
"Rick told me I should help you clean up" I told the lady.
"Oh no it's okay I've got it" she said.
What the fuck they want me to earn my keep but won't let me do shit.
I found Rick talking to Carl. He seen me and walked over.
"Anything else you need help with" I asked.
"You can help Daryl on watch. Just go outside and go straight to the guard tower he should be up there" he told me.
So that's what I did I went up the that guard tower."What do ya want" Daryl asked. As I made my way up there.
"Rick told me to help keep watch" I told him.
"I don't need no damn help" he snapped.
"What crawled up your ass. Besides he told me to help asshole" I snapped back.
He glared and shoved the rifle in my hands and left. Almost ironic if I think about it. Left. Sooner or later these people will leave me and I will be left all alone again. I don't know why I even agreed to stay. Clearly these people don't want me here.
I will only give it a few more days and if I still don't feel welcomed than poof my ass is gone.Eventually Glenn came to relieve me from watch.
Dark time was slowly approaching. We were all around that snapping and crackling fire again. This time I wasn't so lucky. All the questions starting pouring out of these damn people."How old are you dear" Hershel asked me.
"I'm twenty eight years old sir" I responded to him.
"Please dear just call me Hershel" he told me.
"What! You don't look that old" Carl told me and I snickered.
"I'm sorry about yesterday" Carl said.
"Don't worry about it" I mumbled.
"What's your full name?" Maggie asked me.
"Everylyn" I said as I moved a bit in my seat.
"That's pretty" Maggie exclaimed.
"Did you have any siblings ?" Beth asked me.
"No" I said.
"Can you sing?" Beth asked me.
"Can you ? " I asked her.
" yes" she responded.
"Sing something? " I asked.Daryl's POV
I'm sure nobody noticed but I did. She was clearly uncomfortable with all the attention on her. An they didn't even notice when she switched the attention off herself and to Beth. But I did. Smart girl I'll admit. But not smart enough to full me.
Lyns POV
Everyone clapped and praised Beth for her beautiful voice. She did. It was almost enchanting. It was capturing. You get lost in her voice it's like she's reeling you in.
Everyone started departing and going to sleep.
Guess it was my time to.
The whole way walking to my cell I felt the rednecks eyes boring into my back. His glare so intense I could feel it burning my skin.
