(Y/n)'s eyes widened in surprise. She couldn't believe Noctis had been having nightmares since he met her two days ago. "About me? What're you seeing, Noctis?"

"I think... it's the way you died. It starts and ends at the same point. I try to save you, but some force keeps me from doing so." The prince leaned forward, staring down at his hands.

(Y/n)'s eyes widened. "The summoning orb..." Death grimaced slightly before delving into deeper details. "Tell me everything and don't skip a detail. I want to know if it truly is my death you're seeing."

Swallowing nervously, Noctis proceeded in telling the Horseman every detail of his nightmare. She was silent the entire time, but he knew she was listening intently.

After divulging all details, the raven-haired boy's eyes were glued to (Y/n)'s form. She was slumped over her knees, her hands gripping tightly to the sheets. Noctis reached over and placed a hand on her shoulder. "(Y/n), is it true?"

The Horseman inhaled deeply and heaved a deep sigh. "Yes. I drowned myself a hundred years ago."

"Why? You looked so happy with Caspian. What led you to suicide?" Noctis scooted closer to (Y/n), his hand falling from her shoulder. The mattress creaked under him at the small movement.

"I was happy with Caspian. Until... Until I found out he'd been cheating on me with another girl. My parents died when I was eight and Caspian was my best and only friend. He took me in and eventually, I fell in love with him. It was my nineteenth birthday when it was our second year anniversary. As you saw in your nightmare, we spent our anniversary and my birthday together. After our day together, I forgot the bracelet he bought me at his house and went to pick it up. When I got there, I found him kissing another girl. I... I was heartbroken..." (Y/n) sniffed, wiping away a few tears that trailed down her cheeks. "After falling into a deep depression after that day, I lost the will to live and waited for the next storm. A few weeks later, a powerful storm brewed and I threw myself into the raging sea."

Tears stained the floral sheets as (Y/n) cried. Her shoulders shook as she tried to stifle her sobs and not wake the others. Noctis felt he was at fault for her tears and stared at her sorrowfully. Not knowing what to say, he decided to speak with actions. He wrapped his arms around her body and hugged her tight. The embrace felt awkward until (Y/n) slowly wound her arms around Noctis and rested her head against his shoulder. The prince wasn't known to comfort people, especially women. But he knew (Y/n) needed him now more than ever. Even though he's only known her for two days, she was a friend and deserved better.

Unconsciously, one of Noctis' hands began stroking (Y/n)'s sable locks. His small action soothes the weeping girl and her tears finally came to a halt. Eventually, Noctis decided to lay back down and drag Death with him. She gasped in shock when she realized the position they were in. Part of her upper body now rested against his chest while her head remained cushioned on his shoulder. No words were exchanged as the boy continued to comb his fingers through her tresses. While (Y/n) didn't need sleep, she closed her eyes and basked in Noctis' warmth. In minutes, the prince had fallen asleep while still holding onto Death.

The next morning, Noctis woke up to find he was the last one up again. Glancing to where (Y/n) had spent the night, he saw the sheets were neatly made on her side of the bed. His eyes traveled around the caravan and saw Ignis and Prompto were sitting at the table. "G'morning, buddy. Guess you didn't have a nightmare?" Prompto asked.

"Not this time," Noctis lied, crawling out of bed and readying himself for the day ahead. "Where's (Y/n) and Gladio?"

"Both on a small excursion around the station to keep our guest under surveillance," Ignis responded.
