ADELAIDE WRAPS HER arms around her father, an excited look on her face. Damien Mikhelson pulls away from her daughter and places a kiss on the top of her head, " Be careful, printsessa," his slight russian accent ringing in her ears. ( ᴘʀɪɴᴄᴇss )
" Always am, papa," she replies with a small smile. Her father looked down at her with pride twinkling in his stormy gray eyes. " I hope you get into Ravenclaw, it's the best house there is," he states with a wink, making Adelaide roll her eyes with an amused smile on her face.
" Liar, we all know Gryffindor is the best."
Adelaide snaps her head at the owner of the voice, a wide smile made it's way to her face. " Mama, you're back!" she rushes towards her mother and wrapped her in a large embrace. " I thought you were at work," Adelaide looks up at the soft hazel eyes of her mother.
Erika Schneider sent her husband a small smile as she replies, " I wanted to see my daughter before she goes off to her new school." She places a kiss on top of her head just like what her father did. " Also, I wanted to give you something," she says with a big grin on her face.
" Aleksei," her mother calls and Adelaide watches in curiosity as a black panther enters the room, a package in between its teeth. The panther soon shifts into a man, her brother to be exact. He smiled up at Adelaide and handed her the package. " You're a lucky lil shit you know that," he jokes as he hands it to her.
" Language! Aleksei," her mother scolds while Adelaide laughs, sticking her tongue out at her brother. She looked up at her mother, who nodded at her to open it. The brunette quickly tears open the package and gasped at the present, before her laid a brand new broomstick, a firebolt. But it was rather tiny, much like her shrunken luggages.
As if her mother knew what she was thinking she adds, " I shrunk it so that it wouldn't take up that much space."
Adelaide placed the shrunken firebolt back in its box before turning around to hug her mother. " Spasibo ogromnoye, mama. I love it," she smiles. A loud pop sounded from behind, surprising them. ( ᴛʜᴀɴᴋʏᴏᴜ sᴏ ᴍᴜᴄʜ )
A grin made it's way up to her father's face. " Severus!" He clapped the tall moody man wearing a dark cloak on the back. " Damien, Erika," he nods towards her parents before looking over at Adelaide. Severus Snape was actually her godfather, her father and the man were the best of friends back when Damien studied in Hogwarts and he was chosen by her mother to be the young woman's godfather.
" Are you ready, Adelaide?" He questions with a small smile—if you count the upwards twitch on the corner of his mouth a smile, then yes, a smile. Severus was a closed off man, his blank face and calculating eyes would scare off anyone who would approach him, anyone but the Mikhelson's, They had grown used to the broody man and would wave off his awkwardness whenever he tried to converse with them.
She nods in response, an excited smile on her face. She gives her parents one last hug before turning to her twin. Alek wrapped his arms around the brunette, a sad smile on his face. As much as he hated to admit it, he was going to miss her, she was his twin after all. They both stuck together through thick and thin, and he worried a lot about her when she was off to some place without him by her side.
" Don't get into trouble without me alright?" He mutters against her hair. Adelaide tightens the hug before slowly pulling away, she looks up at him with a soft smile. " I love you, brother."
" And I love you, sister," he replies, poking her cheek in the process. Adelaide swats his hand with a laugh before walking over to Severus. She grabs the owl cage containing Vaska and her single suitcase filled with all the shrunken luggage and looked back at her family.
" Do svidaniya, Mikhelsons," she states with a smile, her eyes twinkling with excitement. Her parents and her brother smiled widely at the young woman, their faces filled with pride.
" Do svidaniya, Mikhelson," they replied in unison.
Adelaide feels a hand on her shoulder and she looks up to meet her godfather's dark brown eyes. " Are you ready, Del?" He questions and she nods in reply.
She took one last look at her family before a loud pop echoed in her ears. Her eyes shut close on instinct and a small wave of nausea hit her for a split second before disappearing.
" We're here, Del," her godfather states. She slowly opened her eyes and once they were fully opened she gasped at the scene. In front of her stood a castle much larger than the ones in Beauxbatons or Durmstrang. This castle looked like an ordinary medieval castle with large gates and a lake below it. But Adelaide knew better for she had read the book written about this school, she knew of the secrets lurking behind the castle walls, she knew of the decades worth of magic painted on every corridor.
" Welcome to Hogwarts, Adelaide."
