Sam gazed at the short dark haired boy in front of him, memorizing his features and saving them in the back of his head. He never knew how amazing the other boy could look. His dark chocolate hair falling in front of his shining hazel eyes. His freckled cheeks scrunched up in a big smile.
"Y'know, Al," Lani interrupted his peaceful drawing, he was practicing drawing with his right hand,
"A braid would be a good idea for you." She commented breezily, winking in Samheed's direction.
Sam inwardly groaned, 'No Lani! Please don't-! Ah whatever, it's too late now.'
Lani grabbed Alex before the boy could protest and whisked him away. Meghan and Sean sent him almost identical amused looks.
Moments later, Sam heard Alex and Lani talking.
"I know! But what if he doesn't like it?"
Lani's voice was humorous, "Are you, the great Alexander Stowe, stalling?"
"I am NOT, let's have a nice long chat about why you think I'm stalling."
"Nope."
Alex rounded the corner and almost yelped when he collided into Samheed's neck. He glanced up,
"Eh, sorry?" He smiled bashfully, and if possible, Sam's blush got even brighter. The braid reached mid neck, it was a fishtail braid with small white jasmine flowers braided in, it was tied with a red ribbon- Lani's most likely. Speaking of her, she took one look at the situation and decided to skedaddle. She'd admired her handy work later.
Sam stuttered, hoping he didn't make a fool of himself- "U-um, so, I guess we should go back to the girls..?" Alex nodded and they began the walk back. Sam glanced sideways, Alex's freckled neck and ears were completely on display. The braid bobbed and swished as he walked, then he bit his lip and it was too much for Sam. "On second thought..." He laced his fingers in Alex's and pressed his lips firmly against his soft shell pink lips. He pulled away and realized he had pushed Alex against a wall.
"I guess I should get Lani to braid my hair more." Alex's voice was breathy and shocked.
Sam nodded back, "I guess you should." He smirked and went to attack his lips again.
"I hope you arrrrren't playing hooky again, Burrrkesh." Simber's growling voice interrupted. "Oh my," the two separated, looking a little disheveled. Simber looked scandalized, then he smirked. "Rrrrrrun along, now,"
Sam and Alex began the walk down to the lunchroom.
"No morrre snogging in the halls!" Somber shouted after them and both their faces lit up like Christmas lights.
