"I'M SORRY, I just think it's crazy that you're not carrying a phone on you." I put my hands up defensively as I ironically attacked Haruto for his lack of electronics, "Completely disregarding the fact that we live in the twenty first century, we're in the city of the future. But you don't have phone."
"Hey," He laughed as I continued my comments at him, "You don't exactly have one either."
I bursted out in laughter, "Not the same thing."
"Same difference, Everly." Haruto nudged me teasingly as we walked down the street. It wasn't as busy as before, so I assumed that it was pretty earlier in the morning. I would normally have checked, but I didn't exactly have my phone in the moment.
As the night progressed and we learned more about each other, I felt myself fall deeper and deeper into him. I wouldn't say that it was love, because that was a foreign concept to me, but it was the closest thing to love that I was familiar with.
At some point during our walk, I had come to the conclusion we were exact opposites:
"Dogs or cats, on the count of three," I randomly said, "One, two, three—"
"Dogs."
"Cats." I paused, "Okay, well. Some of us have wrong opinions, but that's alright. Um, chocolate or vanilla. One, two, three—"
"Vanilla, of course."
"Chocolate." Sighing in disbelief at the guy in front of me, I tried not to roll my eyes at him, "Last one, TV shows or movies? One, two, three—"
"TV— shows."
"Mo— vies." We both eagerly spoke, hoping that the third time was a charm, but when hearing our differing views from the first syllable, we both slowly finished.
The city had begun to shut down, but I had a feeling that that would only mark the beginning out of night adventure.
"Oh my god." The smile stayed on my face, and only widened upon seeing a tattoo parlor come into view. "Do you want to get a tattoo with me?"
. . .
"I never knew you had a tattoo." Haruto said out into the air.
"I mean, it's on my hip, so I wouldn't think you know." Turning back to him, I noticed a stern expressing taking over his face.
He leaned against the wall and then ran his hand through his hair. I had to clear my throat to prevent myself from drooling at how hot he looked.
"What is it?"
"Three dots in a line."
"Hmm," He hummed as his finger lightly tapped to the music in the background. My eyes stared back down at my skin to stop myself, "Can I asked you what it means?"
"You can." Mischief filled me as I taunted him once again, "But I won't tell you."
He scoffed before biting his lip, not bothering to say anything before he turned back to whatever his mind was on. Finishing up the last of the paperwork, I gave the clipboard back to the man. The music in the background switched to a song by Dean, and instantly, I could hear Haruto hum to the melody.
To my surprise, he was good, really good.
"Are you sure you don't want a tattoo?" I joked with Haruto, breaking the silence. He stood beside me as tattoo artist prepped my skin for the needle and shook his head. A smirk emerged on my face, but all I was trying to do was to get him to say something back. Ever since we stepped into the parlor, his mind seemed to be running with a million thoughts, and I wanted to know what was on his mind. "I always knew I was man of this friendship."
"I'm getting a tattoo."
Shocked at his sudden decision, I went back on my words, "Haruto, I was just kidding. You don't have to—"
"No, I want to." He sat besides me and went to reach for a clip board of his own across the counter, and as much as he tried convincing me that he wasn't doing this because I was teasing him, I had a feeling he was. His next sentence only made it worse.
"I'll get the exact same tattoo as hers."

hello friends, i'm currently in study hall at my school right now and i decided to update now because i'm busy for the rest of the day, but ahhhhh imagine haruto with tattoos oh my gOd
even though he's two years younger than me, i feel like he's my age/older because he does not look his age. that's lowkey the reason why it took so long for me to write a fanfic about him, because i felt weird about it. but it's fine with me now :-)
is haruto older or younger than you? and by how many years?
