Atalanta was lying in her room in the TAPOPS station, scrolling though her data tablet. She had just finished talking with her superiors. They had decided that the mission was not a failure yet, but just unfinished. They told her that she had to complete the mission, this time with Cadet Sky and Lance Corporal Ainya.
Right now, she was uploading data into the tablet, which she will give to the other two later. She was mentally checking what she had already uploaded. KristaBot's appearance and powers, check. APSHU's location, check. Data on the-
Atalanta was shook out of her thoughts by a bang from the next room. She frowned. Ainya was usually quiet whenever she's in her room. What had happened for her to make such a sudden noise?
Atalanta got out from her bed and got out to go to the lance corporal's room. However, when she got by the door, she was greeted by an unusual sight.
Ainya and Sky are fighting. No, not their usual playful fights, but a real fight. Ainya was towering over Sky, who was looking defiant. Atalanta later found out that the source of the bang was a ceramic pot that was thrown in the wall separating their rooms.
"-done with your antics! Ugh! I knew I shouldn't have stayed by your side in the first place!"
Atalanta knew she had to interfere, to stop the fight from escalating any further. But something held her frozen in her face. Perhaps it's the fact that this is a friends' fight, and it's not any of her business.
"That attitude of yours is the reason why you're always alone! Get real, Ainya! You're not going to find anyone who's up to your standards!" Sky's voice was lacking it's usual cheerfulness, just pure anger.
"Maybe I will. I'll prove it to you. But you'll never be that person." Ainya's face was hard as stone. She showed no emotion, and her voice was flat when she spoke. She turned her heel and walked out of her room, bumping hard to Atalanta as she passed by her.
Sky sat on the floor, crying. Atalanta knew that she didn't mean anything that she had just said, neither of them did. The words were just spoken out of anger.
Atalanta debated whether to follow Ainya or sit by Sky. She did neither. Instead, she walked into the direction of the control room, where she figured the two TAPOPS leaders are. She decided to tell them that she's going to do the mission alone, giving the other two their much needed space.
