"Bitch, this is it!" Shizuko whooped, draining the beer in her hand as she cheered for the war ahead. "Finally, you people have a chance to die!"
"What are you yapping about?" Ainya demanded, sweeping in front of the screen. Her face paled as soon as she did. "Hey! We have to get down there!"
"How?" Shizuko snarked. "Yeah. See if I care."
Outside the screen was a war on a planet. Not just any war, but the battle of TAPOPS and APSHU. It was happening, just like Lara's vision of the future, but did Shizuko give a fuck? Not a fucking chance. She would prefer to see carnage and laugh at the pathetic demises.
Death X and Lara were already prepping for battle, which led to deadpan expressions from Shizuko and Ainya. Sure, they were notified of the outcome, but they weren't prepped for them being paranoid. Death X grinned and outstretched his hand towards Shizuko. "Should we, princess?"
Shizuko sent a mug flying his way. Death X leaned aside and dodged the shards of the porcelain that bounced off the walls. Despite her attempt of assault, she pushed Ainya onto her seat.
"Looking good!" Death X grinned.
She growled and sent an uppercut towards his jaw.
Then Shizuko dropkicked herself towards the surface of the planet. Everyone stared at her, but was rendered speechless. Death X shrugged and fell backwards to the surface.
"They'll be alright, right?" Lara asked Ainya timidly as she closed the hatch through controls.
Ainya glanced at her. "Honestly, I've seen too many weird things to even be surprised."
On the ground, Shizuko and Death X landed on opposite sides of the battlefield in badass poses. Just had to throw that in. The momentum gathered in the fall had led to them creating a crater in the rocky surface, stunning everyone around them and messing up their rhythm. Using the distraction, both of them dispatched their forces with unmatchable speed and force.
Shizuko nor Death X had powers or weapons like the others, but they were the best for a reason. Death X had his chains, but he would rather keep them out of commission unless necessary. Both of them battled with grace of a dancer's, but the brutality of an assassin. They were the definition of the beauty of murder. You can't possibly argue, because they can do a duet ballet recital and kill you slowly at the same time, but Shizuko will be focused on sucker punching Death X in the face rather than your demise. Priorities.
Shredding through enemy forces like paper, Death X looked to the sky. Shizuko's ship flew overhead, with figures standing on the top. A blue shield whizzed through the air and through armies, all the while returning to its owner after every run. Lara deflected every attack thrown at them with her defence shield. They were a perfect team, performance perhaps exceeding Ainya's time at Atalanta's team.
Unlike Death X, Shizuko wasn't so subtle. Her string of curses could be heard from miles away as humanoids were thrown into the air and into their allies. None of them returned alive or unscathed, but it's worth the sacrifice. Maybe, maybe not.
Death X turned around. Standing behind him was a girl with black hair and green eyes. He recognized her as Diana, whose mission was jeopardized by none other than honeycakes. Her expression was no longer a carefree one, replaced by one in silent debate.
"Come on, sugarplum, you don't have to fight me." Death X threw his hand backwards and sent a guard to dreamland. "All you have to do is follow me. I swear this is important—"
Diana growled. "You're ugly!" She thrust her hand out in deep concentration. Laser weapons floated around her, all aiming at Death X, whirring with life and power. She pointed at Death X and they all opened fire spontaneously.
