They had been walking for what felt like hours. Just like how everything had started with each and every oe them. By simply walking until they met each other by chance.

Keith was walking on his own now, his concussion simply a strong headache. But he could see clearly.

The only weapons they had on them anymore was what they could find on the dead men and Haggar herself. And it was just a few. The only hope they had was to stay on the main road. And by chance they could stay safe throughout the night.

It was a bad idea, but they kept walking. They just let their feet shuffle under them as they slowly recovered from everything.

Pidge was exhausted, held by shiro on his back as he kept walking. Things just weren't the same without rover, and the dog tag she held in her hand was something she would keep on her forever.

Lotor and Acxa stayed close. The loss of both Ezor, Zethrid, and Narti had been almost detrimental to them in ways that could never be properly maintained. But here they had each other. Between them, they were soulmates. Not it romantic love, but of a friendship that can never be properly understood. They needed each other to survive. And they needed the other four in this group as well.

The sun was finally setting, and it seemed almost strange, it was quiet. No walkers and no animals at all. It was just them and darkness. The sound of crickets and the sound of the gentle breeze in the wind.

But that all changed when the sound of a car engine was heard. All of the group flinched as they turned around.

Three trucks all heading their way. Straight toward them. Coming from both ways. In front, and behind.

The group froze, the dirt road they were standing on had no exit. And the fields that surrounded them offered no protection. They had no goods on them, and if they could get these people to leave them, that would be their best bet.

But shiro looked at them as the trucks picked up speed and surrounded the group, people with guns standing up from the backs of the trucks and flashlights were shined on them along with the headlights.

"Hey! Get your hands up right now!" The men and women shout as they corner the small group between their three trucks.

The group was too weak and tired to retaliate, so they put up their hands in fear and surrender.

"Please! We don't mean any harm! We have nothing in us. And we just wish to be left! Our people in Altea need us!" Shiro tried to question with them, eyeing all the guns that were trained on them as they feel fear.

Lance and Keith held their arms up as they stick close together, the same with Lotor and Acxa, before through all the shouting, something baffling occurred.

"Put your guns down." A voice demanded, a man stepping forward as he told his people to put their weapons down.

Shiro looked at him in fear. Not sure what this male was planning or what was happening even.

"You're from Altea. We got word that they needed an army. We might have one that can help you." The male said, removing the goggles from his face as he looked at them.

his hair was dirty blonde, a ring around his eyes were the goggles once outlined them. he kept his ponytail pulled back as he trailed his eyes to the girl hiding behind shiro.

"katie?"

Pidge felt her jaw drop as she looked at the man standing in front of her. Before she spoke a single name that would change the fate of everyone's battle now.

"Matt?"
