Seungmin lined up the team he had assembled for Operation Strawberry. (Seungmin thought it was a clever name, due to Felix's freckles and love for fruits.) Chan, the muscle of the group, Jeongin, the navigator, Minho, the sneak, Changbin, the boyfriend that insisted on coming, and himself, the brains. Seungmin was quiet proud of his selections. Once Seungmin informed everyone of the plans himself and Jeongin had formulated, they headed off. Chan stuck noticeably close to Jeongin as they trekked through the woods. Minho kept sending guilty glances toward the pair. He felt bad for making Chan jealous. "Chan." Minho called. "I'm sorry. I won't get in your way." Minho apologized. Chan let out a puff of air from his nose. "Thanks, but you couldn't get in my way if you tried." Chan replied. Minho gave him a confused look. "Uhm, why not?" He asked. "I marked him." Chan whispered, though the whole group heard him anyway. "What!?" Minho exclaimed in disbelief. He smiled and patted Chan on the back, proud his best friend had found his life partner. Changbin smiled at a Chan and told him that when they found Felix, he wanted to mark him as well. "Congratulations! Whoo-rah! We're kinda in the middle of a life or death mission here!" Seungmin piped in. "If you guys don't shut up when we get there, Changbin may never even get to mark Felix." Seungmin added. This made Changbin sad and full of hatred for the vampires that took him. "Then what are we waiting for?" Changbin growled lowly. Changbins body rapidly contorted into a large wolf with black fur, making him almost invisible in the dark woods. Seungmin, Minho, and Chan quickly changed as well, following him in a fast sprint. Jeongin transformed into his fruit bat figure and latched his tiny claws into Chan's fur. It was almost as if they'd never grown up and Jeongin had never let go of Chan's thick coat. Jeongin buried himself into Chan, shielding his face from the icy winds that the pack ran head first into. Jeongin didn't know Felix personally, but he couldn't wait to see him. He wanted to be the hero for once and rescue Felix from his awful family. Eventually they reached a draw bridge that was guarded by five vampires. They all carried pistols, likely loaded with silver bullets. Jeongin left Chan and flew above the trees and over the castle. He was going to sneak into his room from his window, which he always left unlocked. He was then going to sneak into the armory and let them in from the courtyard. Jeongin reached his window sill and found it was, thankfully, unlocked. He looked around his room and was saddened. So many bad memories came to him when he glanced around at his forgotten belongings. Jeongin grabbed a knife from his dresser drawer, which was used for unspeakable things, and hid it in Chan's black hoodie. Jeongin hesitantly cracked his door open and saw a dark and unlit hallway. He lived on a side of the castle that no one ever visited, so he expected the halls to be sparse. Jeongins feet padded on the carpet and made the tile underneath creak and groan. He lifted himself off of the floor and into the air to silence his movements. Jeongin used to practice floating a lot when he was alone, so he was really good at floating long distances. The castle was unnaturally quite. Where was everyone? Jeongin reached the door His was looking for with no trouble at all. He unlocked its hinges and pulled the door open slowly. He then ran around a corner and waited for his team to scuttle inside. A few minutes passed, and nothing. He began to worry, no scratch that, he was panicking. He flew out the door and retraced the steps they were supposed to make. He found himself flying in circles. He just prayed they were okay. Jeongin scanned the castle grounds for any sign of their disappearance. When he couldn't find anything, he returned to the door he'd left out of. When his feet touched the damp soil of the courtyard, he finally understood what had happened. His brother was standing in the threshold, Chan's bloodied hoodie in his hands. "What have you done with them, Woojin?!" Jeongin spat. Woojin just laughed and wiped away fake tears. "Oh? Do you really wanna know?" Woojin asked. Jeongin grew frustrated. "Tell me you asswhole!" Jeongin yelled. He reached his hand into the air, ready to smack his brothers stupid grin off of his face. Woojin snapped his fingers and Jeongins wrists were suddenly restrained. Two of the servants stood behind him, and he knew them well. They were some of his only company during his years of isolation. Hyunjin, and Jisung. They seemed lifeless and numb to Jeongins cries for freedom. Woojin must have threatened them. "Why don't I take you to them?" Woojin teased. Hyunjin and Jisung pulled Jeongin inside and behind Woojin as he walked. Jeongins temper burned as he was dragged through his old house. He knew where they were going. Woojin led him to the dungeons. His father used to keep stolen children and other humans down here for feasting. Jeongin hated the dungeons. Woojin unlocked the large wooden doors and pushed them open, striding inside. "Why are you doing this?" Jeongin asked. Woojin chuckled, but didn't actually answer. Woojin led Jeongin to the torture room, and Jeongin felt his heart leap into his throat. Woojin flicked the dim lights on to reveal a sight most disturbing. Seungmin lay unconscious on a table, his hands tied behind him. He looked like a pig ready for the oven. "That one was too smart," Woojin said. Jeongin whipped his head around and glared at him. "We has to shut him up." Jeongin nervously scanned the various bodies in the room. Minho was gagged, blindfolded, and tied to a chair. Were they interrogating him or something? "That one kept finding ways out of his restraints." Woojin pointed out. Jeongin looked at Minho sadly. He was such a fighter. Jeongins eyes landed on a small boy alseep in one of the cells. That must've been Felix. He looked so weak and thin. Changbin was in the cell next to Felix. His arms and legs were shackled to chains that came out of the wall. Jeongin realized he hadn't found Chan yet. He looked at Woojin and his smile grew wider. "Looking for something?" Woojin snickered. Jeongin felt like he was living a nightmare. They should have never come on this mission. They should have stayed home. He wished he could turn back time and lay in bed with Chan just a little while longer. Woojin pulled a lever that rotated the far wall. Chan appeared shackled, wrists and ankles, to a wall. His face was bloody and his clothes were disheveled. Jeongin wanted to run to him, fill his face with kisses, and take him far away from this awful place. Chan's ears twitched and his head slowly rose. "Jeonginnie-" He mustered to say. His head fell and he let out a series of bloodied coughs. "Channie!" Jeongin cried as he tried to free himself from his servants grasp. He failed. He fell to his knees and began sobbing. He couldn't control it. Woojin knelt beside him and patted his back. "Welcome home." He giggled.
