Jeongin had been shackled next to Seungmin on his own table. His tear stained face felt stiff and uncomfortable. He couldn't believe this was real. Woojin left Hyunjin and Jisung alone in the room with all of them. He said they could "play", that they'd earned it. Woojin Locke's the door and left to attend more important matters. Whatever those were. Hyunjin stood in between Jeongin and Seungmin's tables. He leaned down to Jeongins ear a whispered, almost inaudibly. "We're going to get you out." Jeongin felt a way of new found adrenaline and relief surge through his body. He just slightly nodded his head in understanding, but he was screaming in his head. Hyunjin unlatched Jeongins restraints and helped him sit up. Jeongin sat on the table, not sure what to do next. He looked over at Jisung, who was untying a frozen Minho. Jisung unclasped the back of Minhos ball gag and let it fall into Minhos lap. He reached his hands around the back of Minhos head, slightly ruffling Minhos shaggy dark hair, and untied his blindfold. Jisung stared into Minhos eyes, smiling. Minho looked back, clearly starstruck, and thanked him for releasing him. Hyunjin untied Seungmin's hands and tried to shake him awake, however, he was hit pretty hard and was loopy, to say the least. Hyunjin cradled Seungmin in his arms, subtly admiring the younger's soft face. Jeongin leapt off the table and hurried over to release Chan from his shackles. Jisung and Minho moved toward the cells to free Felix and Changbin. "Channie." Jeongin whispered. Chan lazily raises his hands at the sound of Jeongins soft voice. "We're getting out of here." Jeongin reassured. He began unfastening Chans ankle and wrist clamps. Chan seemed to perk up when he realized what was happening. "Jeongin. Get out of here. Go, run, you don't need to-" Jeongin covered Chan's rambling mouth with his hand. "Shut up and let me do this for you." Jeongin snapped. Chan shut his mouth and figured this wasn't the best time to be protective. Chan's wrist shackles flew open with a 'clank' and his feet hit the floor. He grabbed Jeongins shoulders and kissed him briefly, glad they were both, mostly, okay. Changbin held Felix in his arms, similar to how Hyunjin carried Seungmin. Felix was skinnier than usual, his clothes were tattered and dirty. It's like they hadn't fed him the entire time. "Let's go!" Changbin hissed. Jisung led them all out a back door that led into an ally. "We have to hurry. Woojin WILL find us if we don't find somewhere to stay hidden." Jisung said shakily. 'Good god,' Jeongin thought. 'What did Woojin do to Jisung to make him so scared?' Perhaps he'd never know. They ducked in and out of hidden pathways and passages in attempt to surface and leave the castle. "This way!" Jisung would say every once and awhile, and like a line of ducks, they'd follow in tow. They eventually made it outside and onto the cold grassy ground. Jisung stood still for a minute before turning around awkwardly. "Anyone wanna take it from here?" He asked. Minho stepped forward and grabbed Jisungs hand. Jisung didn't mind. Minho sniffed out for their scents from earlier that night. He was going to lead them back to the cave. They couldn't transform, due to certain members being unconscious, so they made the journey on foot. "Are you okay?" Chan asked Jeongin as they walked behind the others. Jeongin numbly nooses, even though it was a lie. "Tell me." Chan said sternly. He rubbed Jeongins back and tried to assure him it was okay. "You're never leaving my side again." Jeongin randomly spurred out. "Okay." Chan agreed instantly. Jeongin felt his tears welling up, he tried to wipe them quickly and stop them from falling, but they just kept coming. "Do you know how much my heart broke seeing you covered in blood and defenseless? You're always so strong, especially for me, and I...I..." Jeongin couldn't fully form the rest of his words, but Chan understood what he was saying regardless. "I know baby, I know." Chan said. He leaned over and tapped Jeongin on the back of his thighs. Jeongin wrapped his arms around Chan's neck and jumped onto his waist. Chan held him against his chest and carried him the rest of the way to the cave. The others shot Chan sympathetic looks and sad smiles. They were all physically and mentally exhausted. They couldn't wait to go home and rest in their soft beds.
They arrived some time after sunrise. Nobody had noticed they were gone, which was a little concerning, but at least they were safe. Chan showed Hyunjin where Seungmin's room was, and they both slept there, Minho took Jisung to his room, and Changbin stayed with Felix in the infirmary. Chan carried Jeongin to their shared room and changed both of their clothes. He wiped all of the dirt and blood off of them and treated the open wounds that littered their skin. Jeongin seemed to have burned himself out and lost himself in his own headspace. Chan knew he was tired so he pulled him into his chest and snuggled him under the thick blankets. The room was dark, Chan couldn't make out any distinct shapes around him, but he felt Jeongins warmth and knew he needed nothing else. A lot was going to be said in the morning, but Chan would be okay with it as long as Jeongin was safe with him.
