Mina's POV

On the way out we decided to get more doughnuts for on the way back so after getting them we walked out of the fair. The second we left we immediately started stuffing our faces with the desserts we loved, deciding to walk in silence. It wasn't uncomfortable though, never uncomfortable with her.

I looked at her as she finished her third doughnut of the night, my face still stuffed. "You downed that quickly!" I half giggled, half muffled at Y/n. "I just love them too much... Should that worry me?" I shook my head and put the last bite into my mouth. After a few chews, I swallowed it and looked around.

No humans in sight. Or at least none could be seen. I turned to Y/n and suggested "Should we save the last two for latehaha!" I cut my own words off and began laughing as I caught Y/n attempting to take out her fourth doughnut out of the bag. "I was gonna say shall we save the last two for later and run back? Haha! Guess I caught you in time!" She sadly put the treat back in the bag and squeezed the opening shut. She then took my hand and we ran.

When we got back in the house we kicked off our shoes, ripped off out masks and went to bed upstairs. Obviously, neither of us were tired as vampires don't sleep we just thought it was the socially acceptable thing to do this time of night. Instead of sleeping we just lay under the covers cuddled up. Silence but again comfortable silence.

I started to think about the first lesson Jihyo taught me. It was basically the explanation about where I was. I was asleep when I got turned so to suddenly wake up in a new house with new people was a bit of a shock. Jihyo taught me right away that vampires come from humans.

Some humans were born with defects in their DNA therefore making them vampires. They stayed unknown to the humans for many years as they hadn't developed the ability to smell blood yet and their fangs hadn't grown out. Therefore they looked and acted human.

There was a group set up online by a brave vampire to find the others like him. Many started contacting him and in no time there was a small community of around ten vampires online. The government found out about this website and was scared for the population. They looked down the website, found all the people who had exposed themselves as vampires and banished them to the woods before the general public knew they even existed.

Those ten vampires built a community up in the woods by building houses for themselves but then then grew hungry. They decided that anyone who crossed into the woods would be killed and used as food. The original ten (as they are known) then evolved and converted even more till we have the population we now have today.

To be converted is the only way vampires can 'reproduce'. We can have children the normal way too but as vampires began as a defect in the DNA there is no guarantee that the child will be a vampire. That's why they just convert humans.

That's when it hit me.

"What if it's our human senses kicking back in?" I asked my girlfriend as I cuddled back into her shoulder. "Hmm?" "What if we went on a date, loved eating the doughnuts and came up to bed even though we don't sleep because our human senses were kicking back in?"

Silence followed. And not a comfortable silence like before. Awkward silence.

"It could be..."

------------

Sorry that this is a shorter chapter! I just had an idea and started going with it until I reached that point and thought it was a good place to end it. I'm honestly going to start writing the next chapter immediately after publishing this because I have a good idea and I'm rolling with it.
