Part Five
December 31st
We just lay in each other’s arms to preserve what energy we have left. We slept thought the night. According to his watch, it was 8:12 A.M. I was so hungry it was bringing me to tears which fell on his shirt. “It will be ok,” he said comforting me. He lifted my chin up to his lips. I closed my eyes and leaned in, trying to forget about starving.
There’s something about Jeffery I never had with Billy. I mean besides being drop-dead gorgeous with his dark brown hair that flops just the right way and his sparkling pale blue eyes, he is the most down to earth person I know. I could have be myself around him and just have fun. I pulled away and buried my head into his shoulder.
Later that night
I must have dozed off, my vision was really blurry. I heard a faint noise. “Babe, do you hear that?” I asked, tapping his shoulder. “Yeah, what on earth is it though?” “Baby!” I shouted. “We are moving!” I got to me feet as did he. He held me in his arms and kissed me. “We’re alive!” The elevator rose to level one of the building and the doors hesitantly opened. I kissed him again. “Want to get something to eat?” I asked. “Yeah I do!” He replied.
