Saphire's
"Roger..." a deep voice resonated behind her. She wants to turn back and look at where it belongs. "....it's been months since your last pay."
"I-I-I know Mr. Vasiliv, I just can't pay you now. My wife is sick an—" Roger was cut off by a loud booming sound and she swear that it was the mini table breaking into pieces. Damn she cleaned that just minutes ago.
"You fucking think we are idiots! Sick huh! That's what they always say!" Roger paled and his lips trembled in fear. Saphire turn around and was met by a pair of dark charcoal eyes. She gasped at how empty it looks like but still she felt welcome by it, more of drowned by it. And oh how handsome that face is. The man with charcoal eyes walk to Roger like a predator to its prey, menacing and mad. But she still found him very handsome.
"Wait!" She suddenly burst out. Roger gasped and so was she. The man looked at her tiny hands that is suddenly wrapped around his hard bulky biceps. Its warmth felt like flowing upto her veins. And Saphire almost squeezed it if not by the realization that finally hits her. SHe touched him and by the look in everyones faces, its not so good as she thought it
was. She suddenly lets go and cleared
her throat."Sorry, I didn't mean to touch you like that. Its just that, youre looking too mad. Please, talk it out with you and Roger instead." She said looking down at he hands.
"Who are you?"
Three words and it makes her looked up at him. Clearly this guys is dangerous and yet she can still look straight at him however afraid she was at the moment.
"Saphire. My names Saphire." She said confidently. He nods at her and turn to look at Roger.
"I want to talk to you in private." He said to Roger still in an authorative voice. Roger nods eagerly and gives Saphire a small smile. He began to lead the Charcoaled eyes man in his Office where they could have their 'private talk'
The charcoaled eyes man then turns to her with still in his stoic face but with a soft eyes. "My name's Ivan Vasiliv, Saphire. It's very nice....seeing something new."
Saphire stood there awkwardly and just blinked at the man. She doesn't know how to process what he just said. She's never good with deep words against her so she leave it be.
She looked at the clock strike 10:00 and she knew it was really late to come home now. She made a promise to Bea, her neighbor in the apartment that she'll be home by eight. Now she had to pay for the extra hour Bea had to look out for with the kids. She wondered how the private meeting ends as she look up with Ivan came out of the office with a grim face. He must have been very angry at Roger. There is just this itch in her to go to him and touch him to make his mood good.
Saphire let out a long breath and closed her eyes.
"Saphire.... dear... why are you still here? You're needed at home by eight right?" Roger said fixing his rimmed glasses. He looks exhausted.
She nodded. "Yes, but I was worried."
"No no no... go home now. They're waiting, aren't they?"
"Okey. See you next week?"
"Si, dear. Take good care." She kissed his cheeks and pull off her handbag over the couch.
She went out struggling to keep her coat wrapped around her body. Chills went down her body as cold air passed through her. She did not have any good coat in her since all her expenses was made to be just the important stuff at home excluding her personal things. She was determined enough to keep a good roof on his brother than minding her own. She's big, she can handle herself.
She walked the way home and found herself looking at the lights illuminated in the tall buildings, stores and posts. She love how it was shining brightly at night. Her mother once told her 'she could be that light in the darkness'.
