Killing the ignition, I parked my car in an empty parking spot, shutting my door on my way out.
Because it was fall, leaves crunched under my black converse shoes.
The wind hit my cheeks, causing me to pull my leather jacket closer.
I opened the doors of NYU, seeing people against the lockers, most with earbuds shoved deep into their ears.
Glancing at my schedule, I noticed my first class was History.
I had no literal idea where the hell History was, so I tried asking someone.
Tapping on a random guy, I asked as politely as I could, "Hey, um, do you know where History is?"
He arched an eyebrow, a frown on his lips, "what's the room number?"
"234," I replied simply.
Nodding, he gestured to a door at the end of the hall, "there."
"Thank you."
He gave me a curt nod, "No problem."
Following his directions throughly, I headed to my first class.
I passed lockers and people with music so loud that I could hear it from their earbuds.
Turn it down, guys!
"Hey, I'm Brooklyn Kingston. Uh, where do I sit?"
A blonde haired woman smiled genuinely, "just pick any seat. I'm Mrs. Willows. Nice to meet you, Brooklyn."
I smiled, taking a seat in the second row.
I placed my books on my desk, grabbing a mechanical pencil from my backpack.
After I started writing down the history notes that were on the board, the students began to file in.
A girl sat next to me, a huge smile spread across her face.
"Hello. I'm Allie Grayson, nice to meet you."
A grin rested on my lips as well, "Nice to meet you too, Allie. I'm Brooklyn Kingston."
Most of the class consisted of us scribbling back and forth on a piece of paper to communicate.
Allie was a nice person to say the least.
Too bad not all people are like her.
After class ended, I headed to my locker, turning the lock.
"Who the hell are you? I don't remember you from Liberty High," A dark haired girl sporting a cheerleading ponytail glared daggers at me.
Her cheerleading skirt showed off way too much to pass school dress code.
"Who the fuck do you think you are? Listen Barbie, I'm a human being if you didn't know. You don't just come up to say someone talking to them like you own the damn school, you show them some respect."
Her eyes widened, mouth gaped. She was at a loss for words.
A small smirk rested on my lips.
Tired of her presence, I made my way to second period.
I had physology, which I hate with a passion.
I sat my bag on the ground by an empty desk, sitting down.
After the bell rang, signaling the start of class, a man walked in.
He looked too young to be a college professor in my opinion.
He had blonde hair that was swept to one side, showcasing his light blue eyes.
He wasn't Jake though.
"He's smoking gorgeous," A girl smirked, batting her fake eyelashes.
I rolled my eyes, "he's not that cute."
"What do you mean?" The same girl from about twenty minutes ago inquired.
"What I just said. He's not that cute."
The girls looked at me in utter shock, "Do you have fucking hormones?"
Frowning slightly, I replied, "I'm married. I have a husband, a kid, and expecting another one. Yes, I have hormones, but I also have honesty and fucking morals."
Without any hesitation, familiar girl's hand contacted with my face, slapping me hard across the face.
Touching my blood red face, I looked at her in horror, "what the hell?!"
With a shrug, she smirked, "I told you not to mess with Nina Castlen."
The teacher stood over us, a glare directed at Nina, "do you just slap a student?"
Nah. I just have a red mark on my face for no reason at all, I fucking fell down the steps.
"Oh hey, Mr. Wilder, how are you today?" Her voice cracked while she twirled a strand of her ponytail around her finger.
His tone became like daggers, "get the hell out of my class."
Every jaw in the room dropped at his voice, especially Nina's. She looked like she was about to pee herself.
"Y-yes s-s-sir," she stumbled over her words, getting out of the classroom as fast as she could.
That was fucking awesome.
Can Jake do that?
Don't lie, he wouldn't be able to do that before you take him on the damn desk.
Ignoring my very correct thoughts, I focused my attention back on the lecture instead of my dirty mind.
Hearing the ding of my phone, I checked my messages.
Jake❤️😘
Miss u, baby. Brynn is waiting for you to come home so she can show you the surprise we picked up for you.
Smiling to myself, I typed a quick reply.
Me
Can't wait! I have a surprise for you too, just don't kill anyone, kay?
Jake❤️😘
What? Baby, what the hell happened?!
Me
Sorry, gtg! Btw, everyone thinks the teacher is really hot and I'm just rolling my eyes.
After my short conversation with Jake, the bell rings for me to head home.
Thank God! I miss them.

Walking in the house, I dropped my bag on the couch where I found them sitting there waiting for me.
"Thank God you're home, baby," Jake grinned, kissing my lips.
Kissing him back, I smiled, "So, what's the surprise?"
Smirking, he left to go get something in the bedroom.
He came back a few minutes later and my eyes widened at the sight in his hands.
It was a Chocolate Lab, matching the color of his eyes.
"What's the little guy's name?" I asked, picking up Brynn.
"Cocco, Brynn picked it."
My heart sank at missing her first sound, "she did?"
Laughing lightly, he nodded, "yep. She said co co. I was upset it wasn't fuck, but co co is cool too."
I know I should be happy she said something, but the motherly part of me is hurt because I missed it and Jake heard it.
