Alyssa's POV
Dennise is confusing.
Look, she is religious, she hugs her bible wherever she goes, and all, but she keeps on going all out to the bar with her friends.
She's really good at drinking, too.
Two days had pass after the incident that happened between her and Louis. Thankfully, the rumours had died down.
"Babe, do you think everyone believes our lies?"
"They bought it! Your suitors stopped bothering you." I said smiling to Rachel. "The kiss showed it all?"
"And this," she said pulling our hands below the table. She kissed my cheek. "Thank you for going out with me."
"Of course, babe."
Three friends of Rachel came to join us on our table. One of them rolled their eyes playfully when they see Rachel all over me.
"You are taking this too seriously, Rachel!" One of them said.
"Did something happen yet?"
"I mean, what's new with all these gossips? These touchy-touchy moment you two are doing?"
I cleared my throat. "If we continue this, Rachel might fall for me!" I joked.
Everyone gasped into laughter. Rachel slapped my arm as she blushed beside me. I somehow like when I tease her in front of her friends.
"I might." Pag sang ayon naman niya sa sinabi ko. "You're not hard to love."
I shrugged.
"Well, you two should make it official then!"
"Eh? What's the fun with that?" Blonde said looking from her glass. "It gets boring when you take something seriously."
"Too seriously..." I agreed. "I prefer being single. Commitment is not my thing."
It is true. What is commitment if you can't even fight for it in the end? Just play, less worries, less stress, and less whatnot.
I felt Rachel tugging the hairs on my nape. Her fingers was massaging me, as if asking me to relax on her hands. I sat and listened to their conversation.
It was a peaceful night in the bar. There were drinking that is happening, dancing, and blasting music, but our group was in peace.
A round of drinks and a conversation with friends.
"What's the name of the girl again?"
"Who?"
"The one who rejected Louis Revilla?"
"Dennise?"
"Yes! That one!" Blonde's eyes widened. "I prefer calling her with her surname."
"Lazaro?" Asked Rachel.
"Yes! If she has a sibling, I will call them Lazarus!"
Napa-ayos ako ng upo. "Good name!" I winked. "For a good person."
"She is indeed a good person! She helped me in the clinic yesterday!" Sabi niya at saka pinakita ang kamay niya. "She healed my bruises. Poor girl, she was almost rape."
"It was not almost! I am not going to call it rape since it was her boyfriend who did it. I mean..."
"Boyfriend or not, if you are touched inappropriately against your will, that is sexual assault." I took a deep breathe and smiled at them. "It was almost rape." I added.
