Today I'm obsessing over Mitch Trubisky so LET'S DO THIS
"Thank you have a nice day!" I said to a group of customers as they left the diner I worked at. I work at a little diner in Chicago, Illinois, flattering I know, but it pays well and the tips are good. I had about 30 minutes left of my shift so enough time to wait on one more table.
I was wiping off a table when the bell above the door rang. I looked up to see a group of guys walking in whom I recognized from somewhere. One of them really caught my eye, he was tall with brown hair and a beard, very, very attractive. I smiled and walked over to them. "How many?" I asked. "5 please." One of the men said. "Follow me." I said as I picked up 5 menus and lead them to their table. They all said their thank you's as they sat down and I passed out menus. "You're welcome, I'll be back in a few to take your orders!" I said and walked off to finish wiping down tables.
I went back about 5 minutes later to take their orders. Once their food was done I served it to them then took a seat at the counter to take a little break. "You get off at 4?" My co-worker, Abby asked me. "Yep, you?" I asked. "Same, let's do something after, I don't wanna be bored the rest of the day." She said. "Sounds good!" I said.
"So, you ask them for any autographs yet?" Abby asked me, nodding towards the group of guys. I looked at her confused, "What do you mean?" I asked. "Y/N, those are the Chicago Bears." She said and I choked on the water I was drinking. "What??" I asked, so surprised. "That'ssss why they looked so familiar ." I said. Abby was a huge Bears fan, and basically knew the entire roster.
She looked at them and smirked, "Mitch Trubisky's been checking you out the entire time they've been here." She said. I wasn't a huge football fan, so I didn't know who was who, but I hoped to god she was talking about the one I found very attractive. "Which one?" I asked. "Him, with the brown hair and beard. He's the quarterback." She said.
THANK.
GOD.
I turned around to look at him and he was already looking at me. I smiled and blushed as I turned back around. "You should talk to him!" Abby said. "Ha, yeah like a professional football player would ever want anything to do with me." I said. "Oh hush, you're gorgeous and you know it. He seriously keeps looking at you, say something Y/N!" Abby said getting excited. I was about to protest when I noticed they were done eating. "Sorry Abs, can't talk, I have to tend to my table!" I said, and went to pick up their check and bring it to them. Abby shook her head and laughed.
"Here you guys go. You can pay at the counter when you're ready! Thank you for dining with us, hope you enjoy the rest of your day!" I said, leaving the check in the middle of the table. They all said their thank you's, as I smiled and walked behind the counter to wait for whoever was gonna pay. They all got up and walked towards the exit, except Mitch, he was coming over to pay.
Shit shit shit I thought as he walked over, I could feel myself blushing. "Here you go." He said as he handed me his card. "Thank you very much." I said as I swiped it. "How was everything today?" I asked. "Everything was great, food and service." He said and smirked. My face felt like a forest fire. "Aw, well thank you, glad you all enjoyed!" I said and handed him his card back.
I was printing out his receipt when he asked, "So, what'll it take for me to get a beautiful girl like you's number." WHAT! WHAT!! WHAT!!! I was full on blushing by this point. Just be cool Y/N, play it cool. "You want my number?" I asked. He nodded, "Yeah, maybe I could take you out sometime?" I was so shocked. Guess he really was checking me out.
As attractive as he was, and even though he was a professional athlete and how could I turn this down, I had just broken up with my boyfriend about a month ago, and it was a pretty tough breakup. I wasn't really looking to start anything right now, but I mean cmon, the mans gorgeous, and I guess getting out with someone new wouldn't be too bad. However, I don't want him to think that just since he's a pro football player that he can just have me. I'm a believer in making people work for things, even if they are famous.
