MC hadn't meant to find them. Her intentions had been pure. All she'd wanted was to show [Y/N] how much she appreciated her help in keeping her safe by tidying the room up a bit. She just wanted to make [Y/N]'s bed. She never expected to lift her pillow to reveal the gun lying underneath it, right next to the bottle of pills. She didn't expect to find the note, nor did she expect the sudden burst of curiosity that possessed her to read it. She also didn't expect [Y/N] to walk into the room at that very moment, catching her with her jaw slack, eyes darting from the note to her.
There was a moment of deafening silence before all hell broke loose.
"Y-you work for--"
"MC, I can explain-"
MC opened her mouth, took a large breath, and shouted, "SEVEN!"
[Y/N] exhaled sharply and glared at MC as Luciel burst through the door, nearly colliding with the doorframe. "What's going on?"
"Sh-she..." MC pointed a trembling finger at the items resting where the pillow should be. Luciel stepped closer to the stash and unfolded the note. His eyes darted from left to right as he read it.
It was at that moment that [Y/N] knew... she was fucked. So she decided to do the most rational thing she could think of in that precise moment: book it.
She sprinted down the hallway, grateful that she knew exactly where her car keys were. I wasn't long before she could hear Luciel coming after her, headed towards the garage.
She shot inside, locking the door behind her. She heard Luciel curse and dig out his keys, but at least she'd bought herself some time. She located her keys just in time to hear the door bust open. [Y/N] squeaked and ran towards her car, pressing the button that opened the garage door along the way.
Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. She was close - so, so close - but she wasn't fast enough.
"Gotcha!" exclaimed Luciel as he wrapped his arms around [Y/N]'s waist. He fell to the floor, bringing her down with him.
Neither moved for a few seconds, attempting to catch their breath. With one arm still holding [Y/N] down, Luciel took his phone out of his back pocket.
"Hello? Jumin? I'm gonna need a favor."

"I trusted you. I fucking trusted you, [Y/N]."
[Y/N] couldn't meet Luciel's eyes. Instead, she fixed her gaze on one of her feet, which were duct taped to the legs of a chair. Her hands were bound behind her, her torso wrapped in the tape as well. She was completely immobilized inside Luciel's bedroom, and completely at his mercy.
"All this time, you were working with them?" She could feel his gold eyes glaring at her bowed head. The guilt of what she'd done was eating her alive. Nonetheless, she lifted her chin to met his gaze.
"Yes, Luciel. I was. But now I understand. I understand that all this time, Rika's been brainwashing Saeran and me."
"Rika..? But... Rika's dead," he stated, stone cold gaze fixed on her.
[Y/N] looked at him remorsefully. "No... she's not."
"So all this time... Rika... Saeran..."
"I'm sorry, Luciel. I'm so, so sorry."
"N-no. I don't believe you."
"Luciel, please, you have to believe me. You have to trust me. Everything I told you about my childhood... all of it's true. All of it except how I left. The truth is, I tried to kill myself. When that failed, I decided to just leave. But that's when Saeran came into my life. He killed my parents and recruited me to work with him for the Mint Eye. All this time, I thought I was doing good, but," [Y/N] paused and looked down again, her voice suddenly tiny, "you helped me see the truth."
