Chpt 5: " the bell that huants "🛎😨

Betty Cooper went to a dark place in her mind when finding out Jughead was a serpent. He might be like Archie but that's unfair to think. Yet he just punched a guy She was conflicted. "Betts!" Jughead said again. "Yeah, sorry. I... Umm it doesn't matter. I need to get to my class Betty said  in uneasy tone  as she walked into her classroom still some what shooken up. 

Betty gathered her class up and lined them up before heading inside. First it's the registor before phonixs All Betty could do was glance over at Julian.
She sighed at the young boy. 

Knowing that father is the southside king scared her but she was more scared that she felt Something for the serpent was she crazy ? She shook her thoughts away.

As she began teaching the kids  she soon started saying there names me by one she sighed  a big relief. That all the kids where there

" now let's do are abcs shall we" Betty said with a smirk plastered on her face.

all the kids cheered they loved Betty's abcs technic. One kid roses her little hand " yes Abby " Betty said with a grin. " are  you okay You seem off " Bettys grin drop " am fine anything else ".

Abby looked at her and shrugged her small shoulders " when are going to start writing " Betty chuckled. " soon ".

It was currently playtime half an hour later. As she made her rounds she saw Julian sitting alone reading. All the kids stay away from him. They hear terrible things from their parents about his dad. Betty was upset that he wasn't mingerling with the others so she decided to talk to him. "Hey Julian, are you okay buddy? She asked. "Me okay Miss." He whispered. "Why aren't you with the rest of them?" Betty asked now leaning down to the young boy in front of her " nobody likes me .." Julian said making Betty's heart break with his every word.

She noticed his very faint tear stain cheeks  She then gave  him a tissue " it's okay buddy why do say that " she asked now riasing her brow she was generally confused by his statement . Julian now  looking  into her eyes  said in almost whisper but she still heard it

"nobody here likes serpent scum " Betty's heart broke even more For the almost 4 year old

Betty  didn't know what to say  or what to do but then she just gave the young boy a hug he then sobbed into her chest hugging her tightly as if to say don't let me go.

An hour later

When it was nap time Betty decided to ring Jughead. It went to the voice mail. "Mr Jones, its Miss Cooper here. Could I have a word with you after school please? It's important." She left in his voice mail.

She felt the need to tell Julian or even jughead that she would help the young boy no matter the cost

Eventfully jughead arrived in a panic ..Confused as to why miss cooper had phoned him

"Miss Cooper is everything okay?" He asked as he approached the door. "Daddy!" Julian shouted running into his arms. "Me want to go home."

Betty looked at jughead for second before pulling him away to talk to him. Betty gave him a look as if to say come with me important

Once the two were away from the napping kids
She sighed as started talking to the young father " Julian's being bullied" she blurted out

"What! He's four!" Jughead said heartbroken

"Yes I know that but what he said to me was really disheartening." Betty replies to the shocked father

Jughead was in total disbelief how could his 4 year old  son be bullied. 

He stared at the young teacher for couple of minutes before sighing

" what did he tell you ?" He said not sure how to act

Betty heisted for moment. " that the other kids call him southside scum " jughead heart broke at those Very words he started to tear up

Betty hesitantly placed her hand on his arm. "It's okay Mr Jones. I don't stand for bullying in my classroom. This will get sorted out at once. He's a smart little boys. He kept me company at break." She tried to comfort him
He gave her a small smile He tried to pull himself toghter.
He remembered this exact thing happening to him. He doesn't want his child going trough this  Betty helped  jughead get off the floor.

In that exact moment the two eyes finally met the two felt an inst spark. " thank you miss cooper for everything ". No problem  if you would like you can let him go home ?" Betty said to jughead.

"What are you saying Miss Cooper?" Jughead said confused
Betty chuckled  "Julian can leave with you. If you like " she said
Jughead smiled in relief

"Please. I can find out more that way. All I wanted was for him to have a better childhood than me."he replied with huge grin on his face

Betty nodded leading the way out the door to let jughead get his son "   I'll  see you next week buddy okay " Betty said  to Julian as she hugged him goodbye. " bye miss cooper " he said to her as.
He Hugged jughead.

Jughead heart melted at bettys actions

"Be a good boy J" jughead whispered to Julian

Betty smiled at the pair She wish had that bond with her dad. Julian gave her one more hug  before he ran back to jughead  .

Later that night

sweet innocent Betty got a mysterious text from an unknown number

" am coming for ya. Betts "  she was scared

Archie was coming and she knew it

She dropped her phone as Jughead turned around in his home seeing Betty  he smiled before going into his house.

Her melted and for once  she felt safe.
Or was she truly safe ?
