Rising From The Ashes

Crushed

Phoenix was in serious danger..

She knew this the second she saw the giant super mutant behemoth approaching the Galaxy News Radio building, where she had made her personal job to protect Three-Dog and the radio station from the ever-growing Enclave forces and other threats. She'd taken down a behemoth before, but not alone. But when she fired up her minigun and stepped outside to face it, she wasn't really thinking.

And now she was staring death in the face.

The fight had started to go bad the second the beast swung it's fire hydrant into her and she felt her power armor buckle and begin to break. The blow had broken her left arm and leg, but she had to at least try to kill the thing. She already knew that this was a terrible idea, but if she turned away now, then the whole GNR building would be in danger. She stabbed herself with a stimpack, scrambled upright and carried on firing, dealing barely any damage to the enormous mutant. It wrecked her minigun with ease, turning it into no more than a twisted, useless mess.

Oh crap.

All she could do now was try to lead it away from the building and hope it got bored before it could deal any more damage to her. That plan was shattered almost immediately as she was struck with another heavy blow to her left side, her shoulder and leg shattering, making any escape impossible. She hit her head hard when she fell, but her power armor helmet took most of the damage.

The behemoth whacked her a few more times, enraged that she's just tried to kill him. Her power armor wasn't built to withstand heavy-handed blows from 20-foot-tall mutants wielding fire hydrant clubs.

The last thing she was aware of was the huge brute picking her up in a tight fist, crushing her power armor almost completely, then being flung. She lost consciousness before she hit the steps of the GNR building.
