Well, it's been a long time coming, 'troopers, but we've finally managed to sit down with the excellent jinnis, a member of the Ooorah Crew who consistently delivers bitchin' sci-fi tales for our various Tevun-Krus issues. Seeing as how she's been part of the team for so long, we figured it would be nice if they got their very own TK Special Edition, dedicated to her and her alone.

So, without wasting too much of your time, let's ask her some questions!

jinnis, you're pretty prolific, certainly when it comes to writing for us here at TK. What's that all about?

Good question... I don't see myself as prolific at all. I hardly find the time to write fiction, these days — so it's kind of interesting to hear this about me. While I love writing endless stories and have several finished novels, lack of time made me restrict myself to write mostly short fiction. In the past, I used to take up the challenges from the ScienceFiction profile and had a lot of fun with them. Since, for obvious reasons, I can't do this anymore I get my monthly fix from writing a short for Tevun Krus. And I admit, the fanciful sub genres Ooorah comes up with present enough challenge to satisfy my craving for new experiments.

If you had to select a favourite of all your TK submissions, which one would it be and why? Yes, I'm asking you to select your child!

Well, I have a few favourites, and they are all very different. But in the end, it's probably "The Supernova and the Sandstars". This one was written as an homage to Douglas Adams for TK #42. I actually reread the Dirk Gently series before writing it, to get into the mood and develop a feel for the style of the master. I'll let the readers judge if I succeeded to do him justice, but the product was certainly inspired by his rambling style and is at the same time totally me. You'll find my tendency to animate everything from dust particles to the Universe, my love for strange alliterations and abbreviations, and my imagination running awol. Enjoy!

What're your experiences writing Science Fiction outside of Tevun-Krus?

As I mentioned, I've been writing for the challenges of the official Wattpad science fiction profile and others. They drift on my profile in several anthologies between three finished SF novellas in English and German and one full length novel in German. I might translate this one, one day.

In your view, what is the best thing about Tevun-Krus?

I love the open format and spirit of the zine. Everyone is welcome to contribute. And from pictures to poems and songs to short stories, everything finds space in the Tevun Krus multiverse.

And finally, what advice can you give to someone who might be looking to write within a massive variety of Sci-Fi sub-genres, just as you have done and, to be fair, continue to do?

Hm, don't hesitate, take up the challenge, write whatever comes to your mind and some more. And don't forget to send the results over to Tevun Krus for publication!
