"In the Fifteenth Century, the Aether held the universe together. In the Nineteenth Century, it just might tear it apart." This is the first draft, posted exclusively on Wattpad. The final version, edited and funded via an Indiegogo campaign is now available on Amazon - http://amzn.com/B00QO5K8VQ. That's not all - the follow-up novella "A Christmas Aether" can be got for FREE at http://peteroxleyauthor.com/readers-group-landing-page/*** Augustus Merriwether Potts is an itinerant writer who has squandered the bulk of a sizable inheritance and come to rest in the raucous melancholy of Victorian London's dismal East End. Having failed to achieve any prominence as a writer, his prospects fading, Augustus dulls the pain with the earthy pleasures of taverns, fallen women, and laudanum. His older brother Maxwell, though aloof and often disagreeable, reluctantly renders support and ultimately draws the puckish Augustus into his unnerving investigations into the supernatural. An inventor of sorts, Maxwell has begun to harness the unfathomable mystic power of Aether, the fabled Fifth Element. Soon, a chance encounter with an extraordinary stranger called N'yotsu will touch off a breathtaking series of remarkable events, revealing a bizarre realm of malevolent power and unlocking the secrets of that dark quintessence: The Infernal Aether.

In the Land of the Frontier, it is a place of great adventure where people all around would partake in the Adventurers Guild where, if you take their request papers, you will get payed if you do your job right. But that cannot be further from the truth for behind such an ideal view is a reality of constant torment and agony where a species of weak, stupid and cruel little green monsters will do their horrendous acts upon anyone, especially if they are female without mercy, remorse or hesitation and in a world ripe with corruption, bureaucracy, superstition and greater threats, one shall rise in a bid to evolve all in the name of his ambition. Santiago Da Vinci he is called... Titled, The Magitek Artificer, as he is called... And once, he was just someone who wants to escape from reality in a helpless situation where it is brought only ruins in the year 2138. But now, after suddenly finding himself transported into what is basically the Goblin Slayer, only that they can actually be called by their actual names for once although not without their titles at least, Santiago, the Magitek Artificer, will embroiled to an ambition of a Renaissance level of a goal where he shall see to it that he shall evolve the world he is in to an age of true evolution and the pinnacle of intelligence, logic and revolutionary achievements through the power of scientific and technological advancements. And he has no qualms doing so if he has to do something so out of anyone's comprehension and even commit something blasphemous to actually get the job done. Inspired by JustyTurner's 'Goblin Slayer x Op Male reader: A Knight of hope'... CrossPosted to my FanFiction.Net account, TheEschaton...

It was the Watchmaker's ordinary working day. Or, to be more precise, ordinary morning. It was quiet, for nobody showed up in the workshop. Who in the world is mad enough to wonder the outskirts of the town so early? It can only be that some of his colleagues might drop by for some business talks. All of the sudden somebody knocked the door... One more one-shot related to my big (and still unfinished) original project about magic, space and cosmic railways. It is a bonus-story for an actual project which can be uploaded separately :3 Before you ask: -Four Mages are four entities who, basically speaking, rule the Universe (or, in some way, they ARE the Universe). I've got a lot of stuff about them which is to be finished and edited. Stay tuned C: -In one more of my stories related to this project, the Wizard is the Mage of fantasy, but here the Watchmaker is claimed so. The matter is that the Watchmaker was her predecessor. -Cantones is a type of subjects of federation, like states in the USA or provinces in Canada. Illustrations are mine.
