It's been almost a week of no Brendon walking in the shop and Ryan is getting worried. He is worried that he may never come back. Maybe he scared him away by asking if he was gay?
Ryan kept hoping and hoping for an appearance soon. And that's exactly what he got.
It was a Sunday afternoon and the clouds were rushing over the sun, making the world seem orange. Ryan had a day off and what not a better way of spending it grocery shopping? At Safeway.
He wasn't planning to buy a shit load of things, just things to help him get through the week. Like Caprisuns and chips. Ryan rushed into the store and grabbed a basket because who would want to carry things right?
He strolled down to the chip aisle with his earbuds in, hood on. He was wearing a black sweater which made his body look thinner than it already is.
Ryan got some lays and some Doritos, his favorites. He was going for another favorite next, but it wasn't his. He walked down to the next aisle of juices and soda, then grabbing the 12 pack of Pacific Cooler.
He thinks he's done after that. Dinner only exists at the pizza place for Ryan. He makes his way to the paying checkouts and took out his black leather wallet.
Once he looked up from his wallet, he saw that oh-so-familar head of hair that he always adored. Of course, out of all the people it was Brendon.
He was standing in the other line with black glasses, white sweater, black jeans, and you know the shoes. Ryan eyed him up and down, not checking him out of course. Speaking of check outs, it's Ryan's turn to pay.
Once he shakes out of his little Brendon land, he makes it up to the counter with his things, well 3 things.
He pays the price of his objects, eying Brendon every once in awhile so he could catch him before he left. Brendon was walking out the door while this stupid worker by the name of 'Brent' kept working slower than than the turtle in "The Turtle and the Hare."
Ryan groaned and tapped his foot, he may lose him after this. Brent finally finished putting them in the bag and Ryan quickly flew out the door after that.
He ran outside, looking left and right for Brendon. He finally saw him in the middle of one of the streets, looking for his car in the lot.
Ryan sighed in relif and rushed up to him, acting casual. He accidentally bumped into Brendons shoulder while running up which made Brendon lean forward a little bit and make a 'umpfh' sound.
"Sorry!" Ryan called out, reaching out to touch Brendon's shoulder. Bren turned around and he smiled.
"It's alright." He chuckled. Ryan grinned and probably said the stupidest thing he has ever said to Brendon.
"Well it's funny 'bumping' into you here." He put emphasis on the bumping. Get it, because they actually bumped into each other, well Ryan did.
Brendon laughs and tries to calm himself by putting his hand over his mouth. Ryan smiles a confident smile, at least he was pretending to laugh.
"Good one." Brendon said after laughing it up. He pointed to Ryan's bag. "They are addictive, right?"
"What?"
"The Caprisuns, I got some too." He lifted the bag from his hand and pointed to it, seeing that they both have the same juice in their bag. Ryan feels embarrassed now and he doesn't know why.
He blushes, "Yeah, I guess they are." Brendon started to walk to the black car at the far left, Ryan followed.
"Um so, you want to- hang out maybe on Tuesday? Like a- dinner?" Ryan managed to get out with his luck of stuttering. But Brendon only chuckled and got inside his car. Was that a no?
Ryan backed away from the car, confused. The blue vehicle came out of the parking spot, leaving Ryan with an unspoken answer. What the hell was that? Well he tried.

He's going to try again. It's worth a shot. Ryan just had to wait for the next time he walked into Build-A-Bear-Workshop, then he will ask him.
It's a Tuesday afternoon, Ryan is at his shift, stuffing bears for nagging kids. The door bell rings. Ryan looks up at the new customer arriving. This seems like a routine for Ryan. Everytime that annoying bell rings, Ryan just has to look up in hope for seeing this regular customer. Today was his lucky day.
Brendon casually walked in with his winning features, looking at Ryan with a smile. Ryan's inside flutter like a butterfly and he just smirks back. He hurried to finish the kangaroo he was stuffing for the girl so he can try to ask Brendon.
Brendon wasn't walking towards him though, just made his way to the empty animal bodies and picking them up, then dropping them after a couple seconds of looking at it.
Ryan tossed the kangaroo into the girls hand and quickly got up, standing next to Brendon. His heart picks up.
"Hey." Ryan breathes out, trying not to die. Brendon flashes a small.smile. "Hi."
"So you never answered my question." Ryan bites his lip, he doesn't want to scare him away. That's the last thing he wants to do.
"I plead the fifth." Brendon chuckles. What? He doesn't want to answer the question? Well then Ryan will have to play harder.
"Fine." Ryan mutters and walks to the counter, sitting on the stool. Ryan just looks at Brendon, hoping he would walk over. Well, of course he is the one that stormed away from Bren in the first place.
In his luck, he does walk up to the desk.
"Can I get one of the red bows." Brendon points to the box behind Ryan, taking out his wallet.
"No charge." Ryan starts, "Only if you go out to eat with me." Brendon scoffs and smiles, still messing with his wallet.
Brendon handed over the ¢50 for the plastic bow, and Ryan was nothing but angry.
"Okay." Ryan gets the red bow and plops it into Brendon's hand.
"Thank you." Brendon says in a higher pitch.
"Can I at least get your number?" Ryan pleads, trying to be persuasive with his honey eyes.
Brendon smiles a full grin, his teeth are showing.
"Okay."
