"Doctor, are we at the right place?" Martha asked as she stepped out of the TARDIS. "It doesn't look as 2020 as you said it would be." The Doctor looked confused.
"I... I think so. To tell you the truth, this is one of the few planets that I've never been to before..." He went back into the TARDIS to check the coordinates. "Yep, we certainly are in the right place, so why does it look like 1915 on Earth? Aw, who cares? I think we shod take a look around." He began to look around, Martha warily walking behind him. It was getting dark. the pair of them were walking along the road, when they heard a scream that sounded like it was coming from a young boy.
"What was that?" Martha asked worriedly.
"Sounded like a little kid. it was coming from... the house on that hill!" he ran towards the house as fast as he could. He burst through the door to hear the back door closing. He and Martha ran to the back, where they saw... a man in a giant suit of armor, but the armor looked unlike any suit he had ever seen. It could also be a robot... Heck, it could even be a new form of Cybermen. the Doctor stood at the doorway, deep in thought, when he heard Martha scream.
"Martha!" He dashed toward the sound as fast as he could. He found her and grabbed her shoulders. "what's wrong, Martha?" She shakily pointed at the floor. There was a circle drawn in chalk, with runes drawn in. On it was a mutilated body, hardly human or anything else, lying in a pool of blood. there was a set of clothes lying on the floor, as if someone was just about to change, or a body had just disappeared. The doctor assumed it was the latter. He picked up a book off a floor and opened it to a random page. It read: Human transmutation is a FORBIDDEN type of alchemy, meant to bring the dead to life, or to create life. Never has a successful attempt at this sort of alchemy been successful. This alchemy is TABOO to all alchemists. The doctor closed the book.
"Martha, we're leaving!" Martha was shocked.
"Doctor, that isn't human! This could be a problem!" he nodded.
"This is a problem, but it's this planet's problem. No odd life forms involved. It's this own planet's problem, and hopefully won't even affect anyone but the ones who did this." He gestured at the mess. "Now, back to the TARDIS. We're an entire millennium off. let's get to the year 2020, eh? Allons-y!" Martha hesitantly followed. As they headed toward the TARDIS, they bumped into a strange old man with long golden hair and eyes. He had a beard as well, and glasses. He was staring at his fob watch fondly. When the doctor bumped into him, he saw that the watch had circular Gallifreyan on the back of it. He stared at him in shock.
"That's circular Gallifreyan!" the man blinked in surprise at hearing those words.
"Yes, it is, young man." The doctor's mouth fell open.
"Then you're a-"
"Time lord? Yes. You're probably one too, aren't you?" the doctor stared. "What? Is there something on my face?"
"How long have you been here, may I ask?" He asked, curious.
"A few centuries, I believe. my TARDIS crashed here, on this minor planet. Poor thing was destroyed. Why are you so surprised?" he asked.
"Well, you see... There was a, well, thing... and, well, we... I mean..." The doctor scratched his head.
"Just say it!" Martha said.
"Well, you see, the Time Lords are, well... dead." he looked down sadly. The old time lord stared in shock.
"I... see..." they stood there in silence for a moment, then the man spoke up. "Well, no point in grieving about the past. The people here call me Von Hohenheim. And you are?"
"The Doctor." Hohenheim once again stared at the Doctor in shock.
"The doctor? The doctor?" The doctor nodded. "In that case, Doctor, I have a favor to ask of you..."
