Once A Liar

The start of something?

The next morning my mum made me walk to school, because she was meeting with her new "friend". I hate to think she was being unfaithful to my father, but it was sort of hard not to think so. I was sort of planning to confront her but i would feel really bad if it turned out that she wasn't and it really was a friend... Anyway

So I was walking to school, and across the road, Zeke was also walking.

"Hey, Zeke!" I called out

"Oh, Hey Lana, you dont usually walk to school..." He shouted out to me

" Yeh, I know, my mum was meeting with a 'Friend' I said sarcastically as I walked towards him.

" So... You wanna hang at like a cafe or someth..."

"But we have school!" I quickly interrupted him

" I was going to say after school but since you brought it up, Why not?"

"Umm maybe because we have.. Ummm school!" I practically screamed at him.

"Just once... We can get back to school for like the last few periods... Pleaseeee" Oh now he was trying to puppy dog face me... Ahh well, One day couldn't hurt.

"Okay, but where would we go?"

" Well I know this cafe down the road, I guess we could walk there and grab a coffee or something"

" Yeh sure, lets go" I said. We talked for a few minutes, and when we were a few meters away from the cafe i saw something i was surprised to see, no matter how much i expected it.

"My mum, shes with my best friends dad, they're at that cafe... Kissing? What! How could she do this to my dad... I'm sorry, I have to go, I thought this would happen, but, I... I don't know, I just have to go." I started to run away. I was so confused, I didn't know what to think... Was my dad just not good enough for my mum... No not in that way

" Hold on! I just wanted to say that I really liked you even though it has only been a..." He was cut off by my mum running towards me yelling my name.

"Alanah! ALANAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" GET OVER HERE" Ohhh boy, Here she goes, here comes the bribe and the punishment all in one.

As she caught up to me she started yelling

" 100 bucks, whatever you want, no punishment for not being at school, when by the way, I have no idea why you aren't at school and why this pathetic idiot who is lucky to not have his head in pieces right now is with you. I will not give you any punishme... Wait did you see me?..." She began to look worried

"Yes mum, I saw you making out with my best friends dad... God"

" Hey! It was a friendly kiss! But anyway, don't tell dad and i wont give you punishment and a hundred bucks."

"No mum, Can I have a ride Zeke?" I screamed as I ran away towards Zekes car.

" Hold on, Are you forgetting something?" My mum started threatening me with.

"BYE Mum!" I yelled as Zeke started to drive away with me in the passenger seat.

" Hey, so as I was saying before, I.."

"Yeh I get it" I cut him off, "You like me, Okay I like you too but i am not in the mood for this right now."

"Please, I don't really want to go to school. How about a day out, without having to face either of your parents, and I'll help you out when we get back" He begged

It was an offer I couldn't refuse. "Ok, but just as long as i'm back before 9, I have homework."

We began to drive away and as much as I tried, I couldn't get what just happened out of my mind.
